Flower Shop Mystery: Mum’s The Word Movie Synopsis
Flower Shop Mystery: Mum’s The Word centers around the life of Abby Knight, a used-to-be lawyer who left behind her life in the big city to return home to run Bloomers, a popular flower shop in the town of New Chapel. She’s enjoyed running the business thus far, but a new competitor’s arrival threatens to cut into her profits. On top of the idea that she could lose some business, a strange man has crashed into the back of her lovely vintage vehicle in a hit and run accident.
Now, the smart but sensitive Abby must hunt down the man responsible. Meanwhile, she meets another handsome stranger named Marco Salvare, who happens to be the owner of the bar and grill down the street. Together, they forge a strong friendship that could possibly lead to a romantic relationship.
When Marco learns that Abby is meddling in a police investigation, he becomes concerned that she’s focusing more on the unsolved murder than she is locating the man who hit her vehicle. But, Abby is sure the two are connected, since she has learned that the hit-and-run driver in the black SUV is the same one who was last seen running from an alley where a dead body was discovered. Convinced that Abby has seen to many episodes of Murder She Wrote or read one mystery book too many, Marco reluctantly agrees to help Abby as she learns to put her P.I. skills to work.
Brooke Shields will no doubt bring a lot to the character, though some die-hard Flower Shop Mystery book fans are unsure if she can pull off the role of Abby. However, author Kate Collins was excited to know that Brooke Shields would be taking on the role, according to her official website .
“I am SO happy to announce the actors who have been chosen to be in the Flower Shop Mystery movie, MUM’S THE WORD. I can’t tell you how pleased I was to see them in action on the set. They ARE Abby, Marco, Nikki, and Abby’s dad Jeffrey. I couldn’t be happier and I hope you will join me in welcoming them.”
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries viewers will likely love all of the beautiful decor in Flower Shop Mystery: Mum’s The Word , which includes a colorful array of blue, red, and yellow flowers set against the picturesque town of New Chapel. New Chapel is a fictitious town that is based on the town of Valparaiso, according to Kate Collins as she stated in an interview with NWITimes .
“An L.A. producer contacted me about using my series for film or a made-for-TV movie, and after working through the legal details, a film production company has now optioned the Flower Shop Mysteries starting with the first book, ‘Mum’s the Word.'() Because the book series is set in Valparaiso, it will be fun to see how the fictional town of New Chapel, which is based on Valparaiso, will be portrayed.”
