Demi Lovato Campaigns For Hilary Clinton, Pays Tribute To David Bowie
Pop star Demi Lovato is using her platform to help campaign for Hilary Clinton. She’s hoping that her presence and fame will help attract young voters in Iowa.
The 23-year-old singer will join Hillary Clinton in Iowa City next Thursday in the campaign announced on Friday, Jan. 15. Lovato isn’t the first pop star to join the campaign trail. Clinton has already had the help of several other high-profile celebrities, such as Katy Perry, who has shared the stage with the presidential hopeful in Des Moines, Iowa.
Soccer star Abby Wambach has shared her support for the Democratic presidential front-runner during one of her campaign events. Earlier this month, Girls star Lena Dunham has offered her support for Clinton during her stops in Iowa City and Des Moines.
The legendary musician talked about his longtime friend. Then, he played an instrumental cover of Bowie’s “Space Oddity” on his grand red piano. He also played his duet “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart,” which was originally done with English singer Kiki Dee. But, on Wednesday night, Lovato joined him on stage to perform. Refinery29 claims that although Lovato nailed the performance, she did sound a “tiny bit off-key.”

The entertainer also attended Stella McCartney’s 2016 Fall Presentation in Los Angeles on Tuesday, Jan. 12. According to a report via the Daily Mail, Demi oozed sex appeal in a black strapless dress with a black blazer draped over her shoulders. She paired her smoldering look with fishnet stockings, black pumps, a glittery clutch, and spiky rose gold earrings.
Meanwhile, the former Disney star recently celebrated her sixth anniversary with boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama. She took to Instagram to share a black-and-white photo of herself with the actor. She simply captioned the photo, “6,” along with a heart emoji. She also shared a black-and-white collage of their photos ranging from 2010 to 2016. Lovato and Valderrama have been dating since 2010, but she revealed that he had concerns about dating her in the first place because of their age gap.
“Everyone thinks it’s our six-year anniversary. We met six years ago! He had some hesitations. Once I got older, we could be together. He’s my best friend.”
Fans have been wondering when Wilmer will finally propose to his longtime girlfriend. Back in December, Demi told Entertainment Tonight that the two are not secretly married nor engaged, and that it’s up to him to decide when to take their relationship to the next level.

The child star already has her own line of skincare products, called Devonne by Demi, which marked her first step into the beauty world. When asked which one of the products is her favorite, Lovato shared, “One of my personal favorites, the Palette Eyeshadow, is a must-have that allows you to create your own look.”
It seems like this week has been a huge week for Demi Lovato, and it will only continue to get better from here on out. Rumors have been swirling that the singer will perform during the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Swim Special this spring.
