Jennifer Aniston And Courteney Cox: Friendship Over?
Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox quickly went from being onscreen pals in the hit comedy series Friends to being best of real-life friends and their bond has remained strong over the past decade since the hilarious sitcom went off the air back in 2004. Cox was even among the small selection of wedding guests from Jen and now-husband Justin Theroux’s wedding to be invited away on the exclusive Bora Bora honeymoon with the newlyweds. Now that’s a close friendship!
However, the past month there have been rumors making the rounds that Aniston and Cox are having difficulty in their friendships all due to a recent split between Courteney and her once-fiance Johnny McDaid. The pair had been engaged for a time and Cox reportedly was not happy with McDaid dragging his feet in terms of setting a date for their nuptials. The story that has been in circulation, is that Jen was coaxing Cox to be less difficult and to give the rocker a bit of leniency. As Gossip Cop relays, it was the unreliable tabloid Life & Style that was responsible for perpetuating apparent words of a source who claims to have inside information on the two beauties’ friendship. Gossip Cop shares the words of the source, who spoke to Life & Style.
Most recently, Aniston and Theroux jetted off on a ski holiday with pal Jason Bateman and his family. The dubious insider attempts to connect Courteney’s absence from this trip to her rumored tiff with Jen.“A so-called ‘source’ tells the tabloid, ‘Jen said some really insensitive things. She told Court she was being ‘difficult’ with Johnny, who had wanted to work things out. It really ticked Courteney off.'”
“The magazine’s ‘source’ then goes on to claim that Aniston purposely didn’t invite Cox on a holiday vacation with some of their mutual celebrity friends, including Lake Bell and Jason Bateman. ‘Courteney feels incredibly betrayed by Jen,’ the tabloid’s dubious insider says. ‘She’s really hurt that her best friend has hasn’t been there for her.'”
The celebrity gossip policing site was sure to get the facts straight from reps of the actresses in order to put claims of a feud to rest. The story has been found out to be completely untrue and nonsensical.
“In any event, Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, and we’re exclusively told the tabloid’s entire account is ‘nonsense.’ There is absolutely no tension between Aniston and Cox, and the magazine is simply trying to create a nonexistent feud.”
It was obviously unlikely that such a story was believable when Jen and Courteney have weathered storms and been sources of support for each other all the while. However, it has been a flurry of false stories from publications like Life & Style and the Enquirer that have perpetuated the latest rumors.
Late last year, the apparent strained friendship began when Jen failed to be a source of support to Courteney while she endured her break-up from McDaid. Jen reportedly was on team Johnny and made Cox feel that she was being too harsh on the rocker. Celebrity Dirty Laundry shared the unverified story that the Enquirer reported, stating outlandish details.
“Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have turned their back on Courteney Cox in the wake of her breakup with Johnny McDaid. It’s pretty clear that Jen and Justin are taking McDaid’s side after the Snow Patrol singer dumped Cox at the beginning of December. Courteney and Jennifer have been friends for years and the reason for Jennifer’s betrayal is pretty shocking. “
The truth of the matter is that the stars are still as close as ever and that there is not any rift that has torn the friendship apart.
