Brooke Shields Tries To Out-Dish Leah Remini On Tom Cruise Dirt

Brooke Shields recently told Jenny McCarthy on her SiriusXM Show that she let go of her grudge with Tom Cruise after he made a public fuss about her postpartum depression because she “just didn’t have the time or energy to deal with his whining.” Cruise used Shields’ mental health issues as a platform to promote his religious beliefs, and push Scientology.

According to the Inquisitr, Cruise takes advantage of his position within Scientology to keep others in their place, according to Leah Remini. Remini says that criticizing Cruise is criticizing Scientology and vice versa. Remini was asked to come over to Cruise’s house in the middle of the night to teach Cruise and Katie Holmes to salsa dance, indicating that if she didn’t it would somehow be against her religion.

Us Weekly Magazine reported that Shields truly thought Tom Cruise was way out of bounds when he criticized her for addressing her postpartum depression, but didn’t feel like she should waste her time drawing his rant out anymore than necessary.

“Life is too short,” the actress and model told McCarthy of the now-ended feud. “I’m sure there are people that have strong, negative opinions about me, but I don’t have the time.”

Tom Cruise tried to make another spectacle out of apologizing to Shields by inviting her to his house.

“He came over to my house. It was funny because when he called me, he said, ‘I’d like to have a sit-down and a talk with you.’ I called my publicist, and I said, ‘OK, what do I do?’ She said, ‘Whatever you do, don’t go over there. Just make them come to you, and it’s on your terms. You don’t have cameras, you don’t know,'” Shields recalled, referring to the rumors about Cruise’s controversial Scientology religion. “So he came over to the house and didn’t come with anybody, drove himself, there wasn’t anybody outside.”

Then, to further drive the apology home, Katie Holmes personally invited Shields to their wedding.

“She said, ‘It just wouldn’t feel right without you there,'” Shields revealed. “And I said ‘OK, I’ll bring the something old, as long as it’s not me!’ And she said, ‘would you?'”

But Shields took the high road, and agreed to attend the wedding, even though it meant traveling to Europe.

“People were so up in arms about my saying yes,” she told McCarthy. “And I said, ‘First of all, if you get invited to that wedding, you go.’ And I had no malice in my heart. It was still a wedding.”

But Shields says that she had another run-in the the couple before the wedding.

“Nobody had seen the baby, so who knew that the baby existed? Except for the fact that Suri was born the same date, same hospital as Grier,” Shields said of the day she welcomed her second daughter with husband Chris Henchy. “I walked into the hospital at four in the morning, and there are these people walking out with umbrellas. I said, ‘Oh what are they doing?’ And Chris, my husband, said, ‘Maybe they have that disease like they can’t get the sun.’ And I said, ‘Why would you transfer at 5 a.m.? It’s so close to sun time.'”

But when there was press everywhere, Shields thought someone had tipped off the press that she was having her baby.

“We get upstairs and I look out the window, and there’s helicopters and movie cameras, news cameras outside,” Shields recalled. “And I’m like ‘This is an outrage! Who alerted the media? Can’t I just have a baby?’ And the nurse comes in, she’s like, ‘Honey, it’s not for you.'”

It was all about the birth of Suri Cruise.

Perez Hilton says that Brooke Shields would prefer not to be droning on about Tom Cruise, but that is all people seem to ask. She explains that the security surrounding the wedding was so tight, that delivering the “something old” was a dramatic event in itself.

“I felt like I was 007, or I was Bourne. It was so much security. It was all dark, and it was quiet.”

Jenny McCarthy confirmed the craziness surrounding the wedding, as she also attended with ex-boyfriend Jim Carrey.
