Loretta Lynn Shocks With Choice For President

Loretta Lynn has made a surprise endorsement for the next President of the United States, especially when you take a look at her smile in the picture above.

That’s because the 83-year-old country superstar is going with a Republican — and not just any Republican, but the GOP frontrunner himself, Donald Trump.

The Daily Caller reports that Loretta Lynn “tells her fans at the end of every show that she supports” Trump “and no one else.”

Except Ted Cruz. He’s her second choice.

It sounds like most of the decision stems from a severe distaste for Hillary Clinton. As Lynn puts it in comments to Reuters, “When you get up there and try to say you want to see Hillary Clinton win, that wouldn’t go over so big.”

“Trump has sold me,” she adds. “What more can I say?”

She also noted that Trump was the “only one who’s going to turn this country around” and that she would “let him call me.”

Country stars by their very nature tend to skew conservative, but the endorsement from Loretta Lynn is surprising to many considering her previously friendly relationship with President Obama, as well as her positive working relationships with the hip, politically androgynous Jack White.

In selecting Donald Trump as her candidate of choice, she is essentially indicting both parties for their inability to work together.

While Trump has come under fire for some comments that he’s made regarding illegal immigrants and Muslims, he appears to be striking a chord with a majority of Republican voters for his outspokenness, lack of political correctness, and the fact that he rubs elites from both parties the wrong way.

That is something he will likely continue using to his advantage. He’s also seizing on the comments from Loretta Lynn with a personal thank you via his Facebook page.

As it turns out, Loretta Lynn isn’t the only celebrity to endorse “the Donald.” In 2015, the UFC President, Dana White, went on record as being Team Trump.

White said that Trump backed White’s mixed martial arts organization when he was struggling to get the business off the ground.

“When we first bought this business, it was banned in most states,” White explained. “It wasn’t supported by the athletic commissions, and no arenas wanted this thing. Donald Trump is the first one to have us come out of the Trump Taj Mahal.”

He continued.

“Not only did we host the events there, but he showed up and supported the events. You will never hear me say a negative thing about Donald Trump…Me and Donald are cool… Donald will get my vote.”

Business Insider has a more complete picture of celebrities who have endorsed Trump aside from White and Loretta Lynn — 15 others, to be exact.

Among them are some pretty surprising names, like self-professed Muslim and ex-Heavyweight Boxing Champion of the World, Mike Tyson; actors Stephen Baldwin, Gary Busey, Lou Ferrigno, and Charlie Sheen; former NFL football player Terrell Owens; retired NFL Head Coach Mike Ditka; ex-wife Ivana Trump; former wrestlers Jesse Ventura and Hulk Hogan; reality stars Willie Robertson and Tila Tequila; musical entertainers Ted Nugent and Wayne Newton; and retired NBA legend Dennis Rodman.

Dana White and Loretta Lynn bump that number up to 17. And there’s also this guy.
