Miss Colombia To Finally Face Steve Harvey On His Talk Show
Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, is finally ready to face off with Steve Harvey. Gutierrez is scheduled to appear on the January 18 episode of Harvey’s The Steve Harvey Show This will be the first time Harvey and the Miss Universe runner-up are going to face one another after Harvey made the much-publicized mishap at the 2015 Miss Universe event.
Steve Harvey had been unable to contact Ariadna Gutierrez following the flub at the pageant. However, Miss Colombia has decided to pop up on “The Steve Harvey Show”, marking the first time Harvey and Gutierrez will face each other publicly after Harvey wrongly crowned her Miss Universe.
We could be in line for a rather bizarre reconciliation between Harvey and Gutierrez but, fortunately, we don’t have to wait much longer. The show is scheduled to air on January 18.
However, it is not the first time Harvey, the host of Miss Universe pageant, has tried to apologize to Ariadna Gutierrez. According to Entertainment Tonight, Steve Harvey has been open to making amends for his huge blunder. But to Harvey’s ill fortune, his efforts have come to little avail.
After Miss Colombia was erroneously crowned as Miss Universe by Steve Harvey for just a couple of minutes before going on to correct his error, Gutierrez has appeared to be rather vocal on social media.“I’ve had a chance to talk to Miss Philippines. I’ve talked to all the pageant people. I’ve talked to people backstage. Even me and the director had a long talk, but I haven’t been able to reach out and talk to Miss Colombia. Now, have I tried? Yes, but have gotten not a response.”
Initially, it seemed that she was trying to maintain a positive face after the nightmare, stating that things happen for a reason. However, later she recalled the experience to be quite “humiliating.” She was reportedly in no mood to let go of her ephemeral glory.
She even went on to express that she would be happy to share the Miss Universe crown with the actual pageant winner, Miss Philippines (Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach). Wurtzbach has, however, already made her mind clear on this by stating that she is not going to share the crown.
It clearly appears that Gutierrez is finding it difficult to control her feelings after the gaffe, as she is rapidly hopping between her diverse emotions after the incident. It should be quite fascinating to see how the conversation between Harvey and Gutierrez plays out.
Harvey has already come out to the public to apologize for his blunder and has also addressed the slip-up. Harvey appears to feel pretty awful about the whole saga. Putting that into context, Steve Harvey will try to be as remorseful as possible to Gutierrez in an effort to put her at ease.
However, what is to be seen is whether Miss Colombia will be feeling amiable with Steve Harvey and in the mood to put everything behind her. After all, one can imagine the trauma of being so close to achieving a lifelong dream just to see it crumble moments later.
Gutiérrez very recently acknowledged that the entire chapter has weighed heavily on her.
In the meantime, the new Miss Universe, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, has also opened up to ET regarding the howler.“It was very humiliating for me, but also for the whole country and for all the people not only from Colombia, but the other Latinos that were in the auditorium.”
“I hope that she realizes that this will open doors for her. I think that she will go far.”
Nevertheless, Gutiérrez has been able to make the best of everything surrounding this entire episode. She recently put pen to paper on an endorsement deal with Burger King. She is also reportedly in discussions for a number of promotions with the likes of Victoria Secret and Anheuser-Busch.
