Lamar Odom Spotted In Public For The First Time Since Hospitalization [Pic]

Soon after news broke that Lamar Odom was released from a Los Angeles hospital, photos of the former basketball player surfaced on social media.

The exact date of Lamar’s move is unclear, but a spokeswoman for Odom said that LamLam had been transferred to a rehab facility earlier this week. Reports surfaced as early as Wednesday indicating that Odom had moved.

On Friday, the former Khloe & Lamar star was photographed in public riding in the front of a vehicle; the driver of the vehicle could not be identified.

Odom was hospitalized on October 13 after he was found unconscious in a Las Vegas area brothel. Initial reports alleged that Odom may have overdosed on cocaine and a sexual performance-enhancing drug, and the 911 call indicated that Odom was foaming at the mouth and had blood streaming from his nose when he was discovered. Previous photos of Odom surfaced when he was transferred from the Las Vegas to the Los Angeles hospital. Those photos showed Odom as he was wheeled on a gurney, wearing a hoodie which helped to conceal his face.

Soon after the news of the alleged overdose broke, Odom’s estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, rushed to his side in Las Vegas in order to see after his care. At the time, Odom and the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star were going through divorce proceedings, though Kardashian’s lawyer withdrew the divorce paperwork while Odom was in the hospital.

Khloe and Lamar were married after a whirlwind romance in 2009, and the couple filed for divorce in 2013 after reports that Lamar had repeatedly cheated on Khloe and was struggling with drug addiction.

Reports indicate that Khloe has been responsible for making medical decisions ever since she rushed to Lamar’s side, which is one of the big reasons Odom was moved to a hospital in Los Angeles.

Alvina Alston, the spokeswoman for Lamar Odom, said Friday that Odom has shown “miraculous and continued improvement,” though she declined to comment on his current condition.

According to reports, however, Odom has had to relearn how to walk, and Hollywood Life reported Saturday that the former Los Angeles Laker still has trouble with his memory and with his speech.

On Friday, Odom’s aunt, JaNean Mercer, also talked to the media about her nephew’s release from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Mercer told ET that Lamar Odom has made big strides in his recovery.

“It is with extreme gratitude and appreciation to all of you around the world who have prayed without ceasing for Lamar, that we announce his transition to the next stage of his miraculous recovery at a new facility. Lamar continues to make remarkable strides and we are asking that you continue to respect our privacy. Again we thank you all greatly, your support has been paramount in helping to uplift us during these past few difficult months.”

On Wednesday, Khloe Kardashian also talked about the Lamar Odom situation when she talked about the support she and fans have provided throughout the entire ordeal. Khloe shared her remarks with reporters at the 2016 Television Critics Association Press Tour, where she was promoting her new talk show, Kocktails With Khloe.

“I’m just there to support and care for him. But he’s doing amazing and I’m so proud of the strength that he has to fight this battle that’s his battle. I’m so grateful for everybody’s love and concern because I do think it’s coming from a good place.”
