Chad Ochocinco Plans To Play Until He’s 40
Chad Ochocinco loves the talent of Chad Ochcinco, he is by far his biggest fan which likely explains why the eccentric NFL star believes he will be able to play the game he loves until he’s at least 40-years-old.
Ochocinco was speaking to the South Florida-Sun Sentinel when he revealed:
“I’m going to play ’til I’m 40 years old, and this year I’m going to show the world I can.”
At 34-years-old that means Chad will need to stay healthy for another six years while at the same time competing with much younger NFL receivers.
As Chad Ochocinco tells the Sentinel:
“There is physically nothing wrong with me. I want to race Clyde (Gates) right now. I’ve asked him.”
The star receiver was referring to Gates who ran a 40-yard dash in just 4.31 seconds during the 2011 NFL draft.
In referring to his own capabilities Ochocinco proclaimed:
“I’ve still got it. I’m a lot smarter and I’m still fast.”
The Miami Dolphins recently signed Ochocinco after he was released from the New England Patriots during a season in which he caught just 15 passes for 276 yards.
Ochocinco believes he can thrive with his new team because:
“The Dolphins are the right team, the right offense. I’m at the good place in my life. Everything fits perfectly for me.”
Standing out among the Dolphin’s receive corp won’t be hard, no receiver on the team has more than 12 career touchdowns while Chad Ochocinco has scored 67 touchdowns on 766 caught passes and 11,059 yards.
Do you think Ochocinco can last in the NFL until he turns 40-years-old?
