People’s Choice Awards 2016: Complete Winners List

The 2016 People’s Choice Awards, hosted by none other than comedian Jane Lynch, took place on Wednesday, January 6, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, and showcased some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

There were many notable winners this year, one being Melissa McCarthy, the star of Spy and The Heat, who took home the Favorite Comedic Movie Actress award for the second year in a row. McCarthy also won the award for Favorite Comedic TV actress for her role on Mike and Molly.

“Every time you see a movie, every time you support it, you allow me to live out a crazy dream that I always think I should pinch myself,” McCarthy told her fans as she accepted the award

Ellen DeGeneres won the People’s Choice Favorite Humanitarian Award, and received a $100,000 donation from Walgreen’s that she announced she would be passing along to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Vin Diesel later accepted two awards for Furious 7, including Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Film. Diesel, obviously moved by the awards, took the opportunity to pay tribute to Paul Walker, his co-star and friend who died in a car crash in November 2013.

“I was cool while I was sitting in my seat and then they handed me two awards, one for Favorite Action Movie and one for Favorite Film. You all thought that this was your favorite film,” he said. “So I think of Dom and Brian and I start to think of Paul.”

“We have the best cast… I kind of crazily told [producers] we could get to ‘Fast 10’ with our cast,” he added before finishing off his speech by singing a verse from Wiz Khalifa’s song “See You Again.”
