Adele posted a gym photo that has gone viral for reasons that are different from the usual exercising celebrities shots. Whereas stars such as Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian flaunt their fit, fabulous figures in teeny-tiny leggings and sports bras and happy faces, Adele makes it clear with her gym photo that she doesn’t view workouts as the path to happiness, reported the Huffington Post .
Preparing for her new world tour, Adele apparently decided that a workout might help, and the gym photo shows just how she feels.
“[G]etting ready,” wrote Adele for her caption.
As for whether Adele is normally enthusiastic about workouts, she previously provided her preference.
“I’d rather have lunch with my friends than go to a gym,” admitted Adele.
And as revealed in her photo, when she does go to a gym, she doesn’t feel compelled to pretend to be enjoying herself.
Her reference to getting ready refers to her tour that starts February in Belfast. Adele will tour in North America and Europe for 10 months, reported the Daily Mail .
With a new album, 25 , Adele is promoting her music following a hiatus that lasted for three years. And she was candid about what’s involved in her weight loss journey.
“F***ing boring [diet and workouts],” summed up Adele.
The singer eliminated caffeine and drinks lots of smoothies. In addition, Adele has stopped alcohol and cigarettes as part of her health kick.
As for what else has gone into the weight loss success achieved by Adele, although that gym photo shows that it’s partly due to exercise, she also credits a vegetarian diet for her slim-down, reported Hollywood Take .
Having a dog gave her a boost when it came to exercise outside the gym because Adele also jogs with her pet. However, despite that weight loss triumph, she has not completely let go of body image issues after being fat-shamed by celebrities such as Joan Rivers and Karl Lagerfeld.
“[I have] body image problems, for sure,” admitted Adele, “[but they don’t] rule my life at all.”
In addition to defying those who want her to feel pressured to wear a size zero, Adele questioned the idea that achieving a certain look should become a desirable goal.
“There’s only one of you, so why would you want to look like anyone else?” demanded the singer. “Why would you want to have the same hair style as everyone else and have the same opinions as everybody else?”
With her goal to become healthier rather than trendier, Adele initially began her vegetarian food plan in 2011. Her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, teamed up with her to start the plant-based diet as well as jog accompanied by man and woman’s best buddy, her dog.
“I’m trying to be veggie. For what I want to do next year I have to be really healthy and stuff like that,” said Adele at the time. “I can find another way of getting all the stuff out of meat you need. I hate that tofu stuff though. It’s rank.”
However, Adele discovered a way to stay on her meat-free diet by thinking about her puppy.
“Whenever I’m about to eat meat I always see my little dog’s eyes,” confessed the singer.
Also motivating her was the birth of her son, Angelo. Adele reduced her alcohol consumption to once weekly and kicked her smoking habit. And just as shown in her previous comments about the gym and her weight, Adele emphasized that her motivation for working out isn’t to look like an extremely thin Hollywood starlet.
“[Going to the gym is] to get in shape for myself, but not to be a size zero or anything like that,” emphasized Adele.
Is there any part of working out that she likes? In addition to jogging, Adele has a passion for lifting weights.
