Rob Kardashian, who was recently diagnosed with diabetes after an alleged 100-pound weight gain, has become the subject of concern among family members such as sisters Kourtney Kardashian, who’s become a weight loss expert herself following her split from Scott Disick and flaunting of her revenge body; Khloe Kardashian, who even wrote a book about her own slim-down success, and Kim Kardashian, who’s vowed to take off her post-pregnancy pounds in the New Year. And along with momager Kris Jenner, they’re planning on doing an intervention for Rob, reported Us Weekly .
Kardashian’s health crisis began with a rush to the hospital, where Rob received a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes due to that extreme weight gain. Following that medical emergency, Rob promised he would change his ways. But, did he follow through with his vow?
“He agreed he will do follow-up doctors’ appointments and he’s taking medication to control his blood sugar,” a source told Us.
At 5-feet-10 inches tall, the 100 pounds that Rob has put on in just three years continues to be a concern. And from Kim and Khloe to Kourtney Kardashian, as well as Kris, his family feels that Rob has failed to understand the dangers he faces and need to achieve weight loss.
“They’re concerned he’s not taking the situation seriously,” added the insider.
That’s where the intervention may come into play, said a friend of Rob, quoted by Us .
“They’re planning on doing an intervention with him. He’s detached himself from everyone. Nobody knows what’s going on with him until it’s too late.”
Moreover, it’s not even the first time that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clan has allegedly tried to help Rob. An episode in April showed Kim, Kourtney, and Jenner trying to provide Rob with medical care inside the home.
“I feel like if I don’t help him do something drastic that he’s going to die,” stressed Kris.
Kourtney recently reached out to Rob via social media, reported ET .
Suggesting that she wants to spend time with her brother, Kardashian posted a tweet with a cry face and heart emoji.
“Billy on the Street with @robkardashian,” plus a heart and crying face emoji, she tweeted to her brother.
However, Hollywood Life offered a different angle on how Jenner and the Kardashians are responding to the medical crisis that Rob allegedly faces . It quotes sources saying that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians clan (minus Rob) believes that losing weight on TV is the best way to shed the pounds.
“The Biggest Loser at one point was an option, but Rob was completely against it and he was embarrassed that he has let himself go so bad,” said one source. “Kris also wanted to have a show document his weight struggles and conquering those demons as well.”
In addition, with Oprah Winfrey recently in the spotlight for her Weight Watchers connection, Jenner decided that Oprah might be the perfect person to help Rob, said Hollywood Life’s insider.
“Kris even thought that she should get Oprah Winfrey’s help since Oprah is now with Weight Watchers, but nothing would turn Rob’s thoughts to get help.”
Khloe has also allegedly reached out to Rob , reported E! News .
That outlet contradicts other reports saying that the Kardashian family wants to do an intervention for Rob.
“Rob lives at his own place. He has for a while. And yes he is basically a shut-in, but that’s now new. Has been for a long time, that is not news. He doesn’t like being seen in public and limits his social life as such,” said E! News ‘ insider.
As for allegations that Rob has shut himself away from all family members, the same insider said that in addition to Khloe, he communicates with Kris, along with Kylie and Kendall Jenner. And, he’s also gotten plenty of affection from all the family via social media.
As for that frantic dash to the hospital and diabetes diagnosis, the tests results reportedly showed that Rob had high blood sugar levels. The prescription includes extensive changes in his diet, weight loss, and exercise.
“Rob is such a great guy,” said Khloe recently. “He’s charming, charismatic, everything. That’s what’s so infuriating. I’m like, ‘Where is your will to live life?’…[Rob] has to figure it out for himself. And he has so many people who want to help him.”
