Clay Aiken Slams ‘American Idol’ Judges, Calling Them Boring And Reason For Cancellation
Clay Aiken got his start on American Idol, but tonight he actually went to Twitter to slam the judges of the show and say that they are the reason this show got cancelled. Idol is in its final season and the first episode aired tonight.
Clay seems to have forgotten that this show is the reason that anyone even knows his name. Us Magazine shared what Aiken had to say about the judges Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr., and Jennifer Lopez. Clay Aiken shared that it was his first time to watch the show in 10 years, and he clearly expressed dismay over the current season. Aiken revealed his thoughts in a series of tweets tonight.

Here is how Clay’s tweets started out tonight.
“Oh good Lord… those boring a** responses from the judges!? Where is Simon when you need him!? That guy need a hook to pull him off stage.”
Simon Cowell was a judge on the show before when Clay Aiken was on it in season 2, but he left a while ago. When Clay was on the show, the judges were Simon, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson. Idol did not end when Cowell left though and has continued on for several seasons, but Aiken made it loud and clear that he feels like the reason the show used to do well was Simon Cowell.
“It’s VERY clear now that @SimonCowell was the reason @AmericanIdol was a hit. I’ve watched root canals more entertaining than these judges.”
You would think that Clay Aiken would stop there, but he didn’t. Clay shared that the people in Raleigh, where they did the auditions tonight, made the show worth watching, and then went on to say that now that the judges put him to sleep he was going to go watch Tyra Banks instead.

Clay Aiken then decided to share that the reason he had this to say is how much he loves the show. It might have been a bit too late to share this though because you can easily assume he has upset a few people by now. Aiken has a strange way of showing his love for something.

EW shared that Fox shared back in May that this would be the final season of American Idol, but their reason has nothing to do with boring judges or Simon Cowell being gone.
“American Idol has been such a vital part of Fox for its run, and we spent a lot of time talking with producers about the future of American Idol and collectively we arrived at the conclusion that it was time to bring the show to an end. But we wanted to do it in a way that felt special and celebratory and treated the show the way it deserved to be treated.”
So far, none of the judges or Simon Cowell have shared their thoughts on what Clay Aiken had to say. Simon Cowell is not normally one to stay quiet about his opinions. It is probably coming though, and this could get pretty ugly before it is all said and done. It is pretty safe to assume that Clay Aiken will not be invited to the big finale of the show.
Do you think that Clay Aiken took it too far tonight? Do you feel like Clay should be a bit nicer about the show that helped to launch his career? Sound off in the comments section below on your thoughts, and don’t miss the final season of American Idol on Fox.
