Keri Russell Pregnant With ‘Americans’ Co-Star Matthew Rhys’ Baby

Looks like Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys no longer have to discuss whether or not they’re dating, because now it’s official that they’re involved. The Americans’ co-stars (sort of) just announced via People that they are expecting a baby.

A source close to the couple said that Russell is expecting her third child, and her first with The Americans co-star Matthew Rhys. A friend close to the actress told People that she’s thrilled about her pregnancy with co-star Matthew Rhys.

The news comes after rumors swirled about the couple dating for months. Although the two wouldn’t confirm the news, this new announcement from Russell’s friend more than confirms the speculation.

As the Inquisitr reported, Matthew Rhys denied that there was anything romantic going on between the two. Although the rumors persisted, back in February of last year, Rhys said that he even had to tell his mother that they weren’t a couple.

“She calls up going, ‘What’s going on? I just read this about you. I tell her, ‘You have to take off your Google alerts.’ ”

“That is the best one I love. I’ve told her a million times that there are a million inaccuracies that she’s read, [but she still] calls and goes, ‘Is this true?’ I tell her, ‘No! When are you going to get it?’ You have to brush that stuff off.”

As for the sex scenes, Rhys said, “The sex scenes don’t go down well in my house. I’ve been told for the second season that I must warn them which episodes … they should expect to look the other way. They never get quite used to it.”

That said, this was on the heels of Keri Russell’s separation from her now ex-husband, so perhaps she was trying to keep their relationship under wraps.

Maybe it’s just a case of mother’s intuition?

As the Inquisitr reported, when Russell was happily married to contractor Shane Dreary, she told TV Guide that they did have their challenges. Most notably, Dreary had a hard time adjusting to being married to a celebrity.

“It’s definitely something to get used to. But I think it’s good that it makes him uncomfortable. I think anyone who is too comfortable with all this stuff is strange. It’s normal that he’s uncomfortable. Like, if someone takes our picture on the street, I tell him, ‘Act however you want to act. It’s uncomfortable; you can look uncomfortable.’ “

As for her relationship with Matthew Rhys, Russell hasn’t publicly commented on their personal relationship. That said, she has commented on being a mother before. Speaking about her youngest, Willa, 3, the actress told the Los Angeles Times the following.

“I’m raising a child, and she doesn’t know the core of who I am and all these important things about how we were raised and who she is. I feel like it’s important to know who you are. And I feel like that’s a really human feeling to want to know who you are so you can go out into the world and know how to view the world.”

Fans are currently going nuts about the Americans co-stars expecting a child together.
