Justin Bieber Opens Up About Selena Gomez: ‘I Just Want Her To Be Happy’
Justin Bieber opened up about Selena Gomez and their famous relationship, E! Online reported Tuesday.
According to the news outlet, Beiber recorded an interview nearly three weeks ago that will air partially Wednesday on The Bert Show. Before his current fling with Hailey Baldwin and amid rumors Justin was with Kourtney Kardashian, Bieber told the interviewers that he and Gomez share a mutual love for each.
“[Selena] loves me. No, I love her, too. Always. I just want her to be happy. I love her. We’re friends still. We needed time to grow for ourselves and we were like, ‘Maybe we’ll come back together in the future,’ and then it ended up being so long and we just grew apart and we’re not the same people anymore.”
In the interview – which is billed by the program as “a super open, raw and honest interview” – Bieber continued to comment on his ex-girlfriend. Justin had strong sentiments about the new “Hands To Myself” video featuring Selena Gomez rolling around on a bed with model Christopher Mason.
“What is she trying to do to my heart right now? I’m just kidding. She loves me. I love her, too, always. Who’s this guy? He’s a joke! This guy’s a chump,”
Bieber did finally give about the model covering Selena Gomez in her latest video. “Nah, I guess he’s pretty handsome actually,” Justin said. “I can’t even lie.”

In the two-part interview airing on The Bert Show January 6 and 7, 2016, Bieber also opened up about Kourtney Kardashian. When the interviewer asked him if he was being used by the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, Justin played coy. “I’m being used, man,” Bieber deadpans, repeating the phrase from the interviewer. “What can I say?”
When asked by the radio interviewer if there was “anything there” between Justin and Kourtney, Bieber again skirts around the issue. “Nah, we’ll leave it at that,” Beiber said.
“For real, she’s great,” Bieber added about Kardashian. “I’ve known [the family] for years.” Fans can hear clips of the upcoming Bieber interview – including his comments on Selena Gomez – by The Bert Show‘s article promoting the segment.
“They both also have a strong attraction towards each other and this trip they have been having fun with their families, but also had some alone time. Hailey and Justin like to party and let loose and this romantic connection has always been there.”
After the recent trip Bieber and Baldwin shared with each, their connection grew according to the source.
“Hailey and Justin have a very tight relationship. They both are very close with each other’s families and care very deeply about each other. Hailey’s family has been there and supported Justin through his transition, so Justin has a strong respect for them.”
Before rumors of either Kourtney Kardashian or Hailey Baldwin surfaced, many Bieber fans thought Jelena was back on after Justin serenaded Selena Gomez at a Beverly Hills hotel bar in November. Those reports turned out to be false, however, as Selena Gomez was later seen kissing One Direction’s Niall Horan. A previously reported love triangle between the three recording artists now appears to have ended.
The on-again, off-again relationship between Selena Gomez and Bieber has helped both lyrically and financially. Justin – with an estimated worth exceeding $200 million – added to his fortunes with the 2015 release of Purpose. The album has sold more than 1.2 million copies in its first three months, The New York Post reported.
Selena Gomez has experienced some success with her album Revival. The album originally drew notoreity as Selena Gomez chose to pose nude on the cover, combatting fat-shamers in the process, the Inquisitr reported.
