Lily-Rose Depp Stuns With Magazine Cover, As Father Johnny Depp Receives Award

Johnny Depp is no stranger to success, having enjoyed it since his role in Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) launched him into a spectacular career. It now seems that same kind of preternatural good fortune is smiling on his daughter. Lily-Rose Melody Depp, now 16-years-old, has taken another step in following in her dreams by appearing on a new magazine cover. This news, which fills her father with the greatest pride, comes as the elder Depp is honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award.

Lily-Rose has made no secret of her passion for both acting and modeling, feeling the gentle influences of Ms. Paradis and Johnny Depp, so it may not come as any surprise that the younger Depp has already nailed another in a series of magazine covers. Previously, Lily-Rose has appeared on the covers of Vogue Paris and Oyster, has modeled for Chanel, and has appeared in Tusk (2014). Lily-Rose will again co-star with her father in the upcoming Kevin Smith comedy, Yoga Hosers.

Miss Depp will grace the February 8 issue of Love magazine in a colorful display of her youthful beauty. From the blue and yellow eye shadow circling every bit of her eyes to her vibrantly pink lips, Miss Depp’s well defined beauty is as noticeable as the words, scrawled in child-like musings above and below her face.

Within the pages of Love, Miss Depp describes her experience filming Kevin Smith’s Tusk, which is the story of one man turning another man into a walrus. Lily-Rose says making the film was so much fun that it gave her the acting bug. She added that it helped to have her dad on set as well.

The young actress made her eclectic tastes obvious, as she revealed that her favorite film is The Wizard of Oz (1939) and the director she would most like to work with is Quentin Tarantino. Imagine a Wizard of Oz reboot, directed by Tarantino and starring Lily-Rose Depp as Dorothy! Would Uma Thurman play Glinda?

As for her future, Lily-Rose has no set plans. She’s just taking it as it comes.

“I don’t have any plans in particular, I just know this is what I want to do and I want to work hard at it, and hopefully keep finding roles as beautiful as the ones I’ve already been lucky enough to come across.”

Johnny Depp Is Honored At The Palm Springs International Film Festival

On January 2, Johnny Depp was honored with the Desert Palm Achievement Award, which he attended in the company of his wife, Amber Heard. As Mr. Depp accepted the award, his speech prominently mentioned his wife in the most fondest of ways.

“I also have to thank my wife Amber for putting up with me, for living with all these characters, which can’t be easy,” Johnny said, referring to his vast collection of film credits. “It’s hard for me — it’s got to be hard for her.”

Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard will be celebrating their one year wedding anniversary in February. The couple met while filming The Rum Diary, though it took some time for Amber and Johnny to get it together. They didn’t begin dating for two more years.

Ms. Heard has previously said that the idea of marriage had frightened her, because she didn’t want to lose her individuality and freedom. After the wedding, she says she’s found that her concerns were baseless and that not much had really changed.

“We’ve been together for a long time now, so it’s been a fairly organic process. I have a fiercely independent spirit.”

Yoga Hosers is scheduled for a January 24 release.
