Jessa Duggar Seewald Considering Adoption: Jill Says If Jessa Went To Central America, She Would Return With ‘Some Little Ones’ [Video]
Jessa Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, hinted on the final episode of Jill And Jessa: Counting On that they’re open to adoption, and are seriously considering it. For a while now, rumors have circulated that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar might begin adopting children to expand their family, and this isn’t the first we’ve heard Jessa and Ben discuss it.
In one interview during the last episode of Jill And Jessa: Counting On, Jessa confesses that she thinks “it’d be awesome” to adopt, and she would “love to have 15 sons.” Interestingly enough, during an earlier part of the show, Jessa and Ben visit family friends, and Jessa seems surprised by the revelation that her husband dreams of a future with “15 sons,” reports People.

During one scene, Jessa Duggar and her husband visit their neighbors, the Napiers, who have both biological and adopted children. Jessa and her hubby seem smitten with the idea of offering a home to children without one.
Jessa is not the only one with adoption on the brain, although she clearly has been considering it for a while. During an on-camera interview in Central America, Jill admitted that if Jessa were with her, she would adopt every child in sight, telling the camera that Jessa would certainly “leave [Central America] with some little ones.”
Jill joked that Jessa and Ben would “be like, ‘We’ll take that one and that one and that one! We’ll take ’em all!’ ” People reports that Jill’s mother-in-law was adopted, so she and Derick can understand why Jessa Duggar wants to adopt.
“My mom’s adopted,” Derick mentioned, adding that the idea of adopting “kind of hits home with me.” Derick confessed that he “can definitely relate to Jessa and Ben’s desire to adopt and want to just meet those [kids’] needs,” adding that he and Jill “we would definitely consider the idea of adoption… We’ve talked about it a lot, and we’re definitely considering it.” Although the final episode of Jill And Jessa: Counting On definitely centered around babies and children, Jill and Derick confirmed that they are not expecting another child.

The remainder of the episode focused on Jessa and her delivery of baby Spurgeon, as well as Anna Duggar and how she’s handling the blowback from the Josh Duggar scandals. While in labor, Jessa, who frequently feels the painful contractions, can be seen walking around the block, highlighting that the speed walks near her Arkansas home are helping to quicken the pace of her labor.
Jessa tells the camera that if “you’re going to try to have a baby, just do it. I mean, don’t mosey on down the trail at a snail’s pace.” Jessa also advised expectant mothers to “[p]ower walk it – walk the baby out.” A mere hour later, Jessa was in full-blown labor.

After 48 hours, Jessa finally had the baby, as her mother, Michelle, tells her she’s “a champ, Jessa.” Just moments later, however, a surprise “a gush of blood” prompts Michelle to call 911, making Ben “a lot nervous.” Even sister Jana went “into panic mode” over the amount of blood, and Jessa was rushed to the hospital. Luckily, Jessa and her baby are fine.
The final episode of Jill And Jessa: Counting On also discusses Anna Duggar and how she’s dealing with the fire from revelations that her husband is cheating on her. Anna, who is clearly exhausted by the weight of her husband’s scandals, tells Jessa that she’s handled it like labor, one step at a time.
Anna Duggar confides in Jessa that just like labor, “you just make it through the next contraction and go on,” adding that “there’s been a lot of that lately, of just taking the next step and going on.”
