NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks Could Make Multiple Trades For These Guards
The New York Knicks are 15-18 so far this season, but they’re only about four games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. It’s far too early to tell if things will continue to go as bad as they have, but rumors are starting to swirl. NBA trade rumors have a number of moves possible for the Knicks, and they reportedly taking looks at a lot of help in the backcourt.
One of the biggest rumors going around right now is that the Knicks could end up being part of a three-team deal that would land them Dwight Howard from the Houston Rockets. It’s not confirmed that will happen, but the chances are there.
While many fans wait to see if that trade will bring them the big man who has gone around the NBA in the past few years, there are other rumors in place.
Jamal Crawford of the Los Angeles Clippers is one name that the Knicks could end up trading for, and his expiring contract is attractive. Fansided is reporting that the two-time Sixth Man of the Year would be a popular choice to come back to New York for another run with the Knicks.

Jarrett Jack is yet another option, and he’s right across the way with the Brooklyn Nets. Right now, Jack is part of another rumored three-team trade that includes the Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Brooklyn Nets.
Some other possible options for the New York Knicks include the following.
- Brandon Jennings — Detroit Pistons
- Ty Lawson — Houston Rockets
- Kevin Martin — Minnesota Timberwolves
Ty Lawson is one of the greatest talents on the list and he’s still rather young, but he has a number of off-court problems that could be a liability for any team looking at him. The Rockets do have him on the trade block and are looking to see what offers are out there, but some teams may be cautious.
The Knicks could use a lot of help in the backcourt, and one of the names they have interest in is Tony Wroten of the Philadelphia 76ers, according to ESPN. The thing is, the Knicks aren’t the only team looking at the guard who is coming off a torn ACL last season.
“The Knicks’ level of interest in Wroten, who was released by Philadelphia earlier this month, is unclear at this point. But sources say that the club has expressed interest in obtaining a guard via trade or free-agent signing in recent days. They have also been monitoring D League players as potential additions, sources say.”
One of the good things about the Knicks is that they currently have only 14 players under contract so there is room for one more. Wroten can be picked up without a trade, but they have to make sure he is healed enough to play.
The New York Knicks don’t have a bad team, and they are playing in the Eastern Conference which is considerably weaker than the Western. Still, they need some help in the backcourt and another big man or two under the basket would also help a lot.
The NBA trade rumors are running wild right now, and the New York Knicks are part of a lot of them. Dwight Howard could be on the move and so could any number of guards, but will they land in the “Big Apple”? The opportunities for the Knicks to improve are there, but the right moves need to be made.
