‘Sons of Anarchy’ Star Charlie Hunnam Spotted Looking Forlorn — Trouble With His Longtime Love Morgana McNelis?
Charlie Hunnam appeared to be low in spirits as the Sons of Anarchy star made his way around Los Angeles this past week. Is there trouble brewing between Hunnam and his longtime girlfriend Morgana McNelis? Or is there another reason why Hunnam was looking a little forlorn?
As it turns out, Hunnam was in Los Angeles on Christmas Eve and was seen just outside of a retail store frequented by some of Hollywood’s top stars. According to the Daily Mail, Hunnam was more than likely just out for some last-minute Christmas shopping, and his look of depression may have just been the actor concentrating on what to buy his loved ones for the holiday.
Hunnam decided to go casual during his Christmas outing and wore a light grey sweatshirt, dark sweatpants, a pair of sneakers, and a beanie. For the most part, the British actor remained focused on his cell phone while he walked around, although he did pause to take a look at a motorcycle that was parked nearby.
The recent spotting of Hunnam in L.A. follows a minor setback for the actor’s upcoming film, Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur. Based on a report by Entertainment Weekly, the Guy Ritchie-directed movie was originally supposed to premiere in July of 2016 but has now been moved back to a February 2017 release. Could this be why Hunnam was low in spirits over the holiday?
For his part, Charlie Hunnam is set to play the part of a young King Arthur in the film. Although fans have seen a number of different versions of the classic English tale in the past, Ritchie promised fans that his take on Arthur will be a little grittier than past renditions. Given Hunnam’s past work on Sons of Anarchy, he should be the perfect fit for Ritchie’s version of the hero.
“Our King Arthur is not a good guy from the beginning,” Ritchie explained in an interview with EW.
Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur is being moved back in order to avoid the release of Star Trek Beyond and a potentially low turnout in the box office. With its new schedule, the movie will now be competing against Bad Boys 3 and The Maze Runner: The Death Cure. This should set Hunnam’s movie for success given the less competitive matchup.
Meanwhile, although Hunnam appeared to be a little depressed during his latest outing in L.A., things appear to be just fine between him and McNelis. Despite the two being very private about their relationship in the past, McNelis recently shared some interesting relationship advice during an interview with Taylor Magazine.
“I think the key to maintaining a good balance is creating a safe space within the relationship for both partners in which to grow and evolve,” McNelis told the magazine. “It’s very important to be present and participate in each other’s experiences so that falling in love doesn’t happen just once, it continues to happen over and over.”
McNelis is a successful jewelry designer and was being interviewed for some of her latest designs when she dished on what makes a good relationship last. Apparently, her advice has done well for her relationship with Hunnam as the two have been together since first meeting back in 2007.
With Hunnam and McNelis going on eight years together, it does not seem as though anything is wrong between the longtime couple. Although it can’t be said for certain, Hunnam’s recent look of depression was likely nothing more than the British actor trying to figure out what to get his loved ones for Christmas.
