Kate Middleton Will Sleep On The Streets For Charity
Kate Middleton may be the princess, but that doesn’t mean she’s above getting her hands dirty. She’ll be joining Centrepoint, a charity that supports homeless youth, on a Sleep Out campaign to raise awareness regarding the increasing homeless problem in England.
Middleton’s husband, Prince William, is already a patron of the organization that his mother, Princess Diana, was before him. According to the Mirror, the Prince has already participated in the Sleep Out program, which involves sleeping on the streets with the charity for a night. Lisa Maxwell, an ambassador for the charity, encouraged Middleton to follow in her husband’s footsteps and participate. “I work with Centrepoint and William’s our patron. We had a little do and they both came down,” said Maxwell. “She asked me about sleeping out, so I said: ‘Next time I do it, you’re doing it with me. No excuses, he’s done it.’ She said: ‘You’re on’.”
In other news, Prince William has contributed $7.3 million towards a down-payment on an estate being purchased by his in-laws, Carole and Michael Middleton, Kate’s parents.
“It’s not like there’s anything wrong with it,” a royal source told the Chicago Sun-Times. “But supposedly the Middletons are multi-millionaires from their mail-order party supply business. … Why do they need extra cash from William? Are they perhaps a bit over-extended financially — trying to keep up with their new royal relatives?”
According to London media sources, the Middleton’s have been eyeballing the 18-acre estate in rural Berkshire for some time. It’s not far from the Middleton’s longtime seat at Bucklebury. The Berkshire estate dates back to the 1500’s, and has enjoyed longtime connections to the royal family.
What do you think of Kate Middleton’s plan to spend the night in the streets? Is it below the Princess or does it only make her more of a media darling than she already is?
