Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Will Spend Christmas Together, Has The ‘Batman V Superman’ Star Finally Been Forgiven?
Despite announcing their divorce this past summer, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are continuing to spend time together. In fact, the two are currently on a family trip in celebration of the Christmas holiday. Is this a sign that Garner has finally forgiven Affleck and is ready to save their marriage?
According to the Daily Mail, Affleck and Garner, along with their three children, were recently spotted making their way to a Yellowstone resort in Montana. The trip reflects the couple’s need to keep their family together even though the two are still going through with their divorce.
“Christmas morning they will all be together to open presents,” an inside source explained. “Ben and Jen want every Christmas to be a time of joy and family. They want their kids’ childhood memories to still be good.”
That being said, it is clear that Garner doesn’t want to re-ignite their relationship. According to E! Online, an inside source close to the couple stated that they are “in a good place right now,” but they have little to no plans on getting romantically involved with each other anytime soon.
“They will be together as a family. They continue to put the kids first and spend time with each other for the sake of their children,” the source stated. “They are a unit. They are all about the kids and making sure they are okay. They are committed to parenting together.”
The two announced their break up back in June after allegations surfaced that the Batman v Superman star was having an affair with Christine Ouzounaian, the nanny of their kids. Following the news of the affair, multiple rumors began to surface about Ben Affleck’s drinking and gambling problems, making his relationship with Garner more complicated.
“There was a lot of tension between them for a while, but it wasn’t all about the nanny,” the insider added. “It’s never easy for a couple going through a split. There are still a lot of issues, but she has put them aside for the sake of her family. Jen’s number one priority is the kids and always has been…When they [she and Ben] spend time together, it is for the kids.”
Although the pair have certainly seen better days, they have reached a point where Affleck’s past issues no longer have a negative effect on Garner. In fact, ever since they decided to officially split, Garner has looked past Affleck’s flaws as she concentrates on doing what is best for the family.
“Jen just shrugs her shoulders and says, ‘He can do whatever he wants!'” the source explained. “She feels relieved that she no longer has to worry about what he is doing. All she asks is that he is a good father.”
Given how many times Affleck and Garner have been spotted in public with their family lately, it is clear that Affleck is making an effort to be a good dad.
While the family celebrates the upcoming Christmas holiday together in Montana, both stars are moving forward with their careers in Hollywood. For Garner, this includes an upcoming role in Wakefield, which also stars Bryan Cranston. The film is a drama that centers on a man who leaves his family following mental health issues and chooses to live in an attic.
For his part, Affleck is getting ready to appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is set to open in theaters on March 25, 2016. The actor is also slated for a role in Live By Night, which is expected to be released at some point in 2017.
