DJ Khaled Opens His ‘We the Best’ Merch Store
Khaled Mohamed Khaled, better known as DJ Khaled, has been DJing since the mid ’90s. Since then, he’s collaborated with a number of different rap artists, been a record producer as well as a record label executive. Recently, he has been releasing anecdotes and metaphors about life through his personal Snapchat (DJKhaled305), which have become popular online. Now, DJ Khaled is cashing in on his ubiquitous phrase, “We the Best,” by opening a merch store of the same title. His “We the Best Store” is now open to his loyal fans for business, as reported by GQ.
DJ Khaled has taken his most used quotes and placed them on T-shirts and slider sandals. The slider sandals seem to be the most popular items in the store, featuring his token phrase “ANOTHER ONE” on each of the shoes. Designs on the shirts include “Don’t Ever Play Yourself,” “Another One,” and “Key To More Success,” with DJ Khaled’s face and “one” gesture as a forefront on most of the store’s merchandise.
DJ Khaled’s words of wisdom have struck a chord and resonated with fans, so it was only natural for him to capitalize on the growing popularity of his motivational social media posts. He has spent the last several weeks supporting and advertising his brand with his followers.

DJ Khaled even presented a special video of inspiration to his fans, sharing his words of wisdom and how to never give up.
“You smart. You very smart. We the best. You a genius. I appreciate you. You loyal. I changed, a lot. You can, too. Win, win, win, no matter what. Them doors that was closed, I rip the doors off and took the hinges off, and when I took the hinges off I put the hinges in the f*** boy’s hands. You can put the hinges on the hands, too. Never give up, never surrender. Put this money in your savings account. Buy your momma a house. Buy your whole family houses.”
DJ Khaled recently released his eighth studio album, I Changed a Lot, on October 23, 2015, through We the Best Music Group and RED Associated Labels. The album’s recording process originally started in 2014. Khaled himself handled a majority of the production on the album, while also getting help from several other producers, including Mike Zombie, Danja, StreetRunner, The Beat Bully, Lee on the Beats, Bkorn, The Mekanics, Scott Storch and others. I Changed a Lot debuted at number 12 on the Billboard 200, with 25,000 equivalent album units in the United States, having sold 19,000 copies in its first week of release. Currently, the album has sold over 35,000 copies. The album was supported by a total of five singles, including “They Don’t Love You No More,” “Hold You Down,” “How Many Times,” “Gold Slugs,” and “You Mine.” Speaking with Hot 97, Khaled spoke on why it took him so long to release the project, and stated that the long wait was on purpose.
“Yeah, I took a long time on purpose. I could have dropped my album anytime, I’m fully loaded. I’m war-ready at all times. I have so many records in my drive, trust me, anybody act up, I let one go. I’m tired of the way people do roll outs and the rules and regulations. I’ve never followed a rule and regulation. I put out more hit records. I challenged the game.”
