Is Kristen Stewart ‘Refusing’ To Work With Robert Pattinson On Future Film Projects?

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson may have sparked rumors of a Twilight reunion earlier this year, but is Stewart “refusing” to work alongside her former costar and ex-boyfriend on future film projects?

A new tabloid rumor has surfaced suggesting that Kristen Stewart is outright “refusing” to work alongside Robert Pattinson following the demise of their alleged “fake” relationship in 2013. The rumor goes on to suggest that Kristen is “ashamed of her career post-Twilight showmance” and that her former relationship with Robert Pattinson “took a toll” on her.

The rumor further argues that Kristen Stewart is avoiding larger, “blockbuster” film roles because her “fan base just isn’t strong enough” without either Pattinson’s “charm” or “another showmance to balance out her teenage angsty attitude.” The tabloid concludes their argument by suggesting that Pattinson would be “a fool” to work with Stewart on future projects, but notes that “Stewart likes to give the impression she refuses to work with Rob.”

Despite the tabloid’s claims, Gossip Cop reached out to a source close to Kristen Stewart, who insists that rumors implying that Stewart and Pattinson are feuding or refuse to work with one another are “silly” and “based on nothing.”

The news comes just a few months after Kristen Stewart opened up to reporters during the Toronto International Film Festival regarding her former relationship with Robert Pattinson, revealing that their “painful” split helped to inspire her role in her new film, Equals, Us Weekly reports.

“It was incredibly painful,” Stewart explains of their split before adding, “Ugh, f***ing kill me.”

Kristen, who worked alongside costar Nicholas Hoult on the film, notes that it was a “really good time for both of us to make this movie,” given Stewart’s split from Pattinson and Hoult’s split from longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Lawrence.

“Not all of my friends have been through what I’ve been through, or what some people have tasted at a relatively speaking young age, and we were not expected to do anything,” Stewart reveals.

“Relationships,” Stewart concludes, “you just never f***ing know.”

Kristen and Robert ignited rumors of a potential on-screen reunion earlier this year after reports began suggesting that the former couple had plans to participate in a Twilight reboot together.

When asked about the possibility of teaming up with Kristen Stewart for another film, Robert Pattinson told Elle France via Seventeen that while he would be open to the project, he didn’t want to further fuel the speculation.

“Why not? We’ll have to see. I preferred not to broach the subject.”

Similarly, Kristen Stewart expressed interest in the movie, albeit noting that she doesn’t necessarily want to “keep doing it,” Uproxx reports.

“I was so genuinely, heavily entrenched in that, and not in a way that felt like an obligation. Even though after the first one, which stood alone, it lasted a long time,” Stewart explains.

“It’s hard to speak to a five-year period in a few sentences, but I loved doing it. But that doesn’t mean I want to keep doing it. But if other people wanted to? Yeah, sure. To be honest with you, I would be interested. I’d be kind of fascinated, but it wouldn’t emotionally affect me one way or the other,” Stewart concludes.

Despite fans’ hopes for a Twilight reunion in the future, both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson continue to pursue other film projects. Currently, Stewart is working on her new film, Anesthesia, while Robert Pattinson continues to promote his new film, Life.
