As many senior citizens realize, texting is not as straightforward as they imagine watching the grandkids spend all their free time in the activity. But for Harrison Ford, learning to text has come in handy while he is in Australia promoting Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Calista Flockhart told Jimmy Kimmel that she has been able to communicate with Ford on a daily basis.

“He is (good). He is now in Australia. We talk all the time. He’s learning to text… He’s getting better.”

Flockhart proceeded to proudly demonstrate Harrison Ford’s texting skills to the audience’s delight and explained that he is far from an expert and not very fast. The 51-year-old actress, who has been married to Ford for five years, added her husband hasn’t picked up on the use of emojis (though he uses iMessage) and doesn’t understand where the pictures come from. Needless to say, he doesn’t use them.

“No. He says, ‘Where’d you get that picture from?’ It’s really bad.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Harrison Ford has shared his thoughts on a the announced Han Solo standalone movie, planned by Disney in the near future. However, he made it clear he is not giving any advice to whoever is chosen to portray the younger version of the character who made Harrison Ford famous.

“No, I’m not going to do that.” Ford said about the topic, and added he also has no suggestion as to who should be cast to play Han Solo or how the character should be presented in the film. In the interview with Reuters, Ford insisted he will not be involved in the Han Solo standalone movie whatsoever.

“I don’t think it’s about being like me, it’s about us being like Han Solo. So I’m sure whoever is responsible for that film, and I’m not, will think through the issues and problems of doing such a thing… Let’s make them responsible for those questions you might think to ask me because I’m not involved.”

The news that Harrison Ford — who made Han Solo one of the most popular Star Wars characters — will not have anything to do with the Han Solo standalone movie has disappointed many fans, and whoever is chosen to play the young version of the character will have his hands full.

Many have tried to follow in Harrison Ford’s footsteps, who, after getting cast in a most unlikely turn of events, has brought to life one of the most iconic characters in modern movies, but few have succeeded. At the time the Star Wars creator, George Lucas, was casting the space adventure, Ford was unemployed and working as a carpenter to support his young family. Lucas asked him to help read lines with actors who were auditioning, and he made such an impression that the director gave him the role and his life changed forever.
