Harry Styles And Louis Tomlinson: Larry Stylinson Is Tumblr’s Most Reblogged Ship, Harry Slams Solo Rumors
Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson have just been named the hottest celebrity couple of 2015 — on Tumblr. “Larry Stylinson” might not be a real thing, but One Direction fans have spent all year flooding Tumblr with “Larry” fanfics, “Larry” gifs, and #larryisreal hastags. Their tireless efforts have earned their OTP (One True Pairing) a spot on top of Tumblr’s year-end list of the Most Popular Ships 2015.
According to MTV News UK, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, aka “Larry Stylinson,” was the most reblogged coupling of 2015. Many of the ships on Tumblr’s top 10 list were also same-sex pairings, but most of Harry and Louis’ competition was composed of fictional characters. The only other real people on the list were second place finishers, YouTube stars Dan & Phil (Dan Howell and Phil Lester).
The rest of the Tumblr top 10 was as follows: Dean Winchester and Castiel (Destiel) from Supernatural, Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoke (Olicity) from Arrow, Captain Hook and Emma Swan (Captain Swan) from Once Upon a Time, Avatar Korra and Asami Sato (Korrasami) from The Legend of Korra, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno (SasuSaku) from Naruto, Clarke Griffin and Commander Lexa (Clexa) from The 100, Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes (Stucky) from Captain America: Civil War, and Laura Hollis and Carmilla Karnstein (Hollstein) from the Carmilla web series.
It’s not surprising that the “Larry Stylinson” shippers managed to get Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson on top of Tumblr’s list of The Most Popular Ships — “Larries” spend so much time posting about their OTP that they’ve affected the way Louis and Harry act around each other. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Louis mentioned the Larries during a 2012 interview with Tumblr’s Storyboard. At the time, he was still in a relationship with Eleanor Calder.
“This is a subject that was funny at first but now is actually hard to deal with, as I am in a relationship,” Louis said. “Me and Harry are best friends. People look into our every move – it is actually affecting the way me and Harry are in public.”

Harry Styles has seemingly chosen to ignore the “Larry Stylinson” shippers who insist that he is involved in a secret gay relationship with Louis, and the gay rumors don’t seem to bother him too much. However, Louis Tomlinson really lets the “Larries” get under his skin. According to the Daily Dot, he angrily lashed out at a “Larry” conspiracy theorist in 2013. Louis responded to the One Direction fan’s tweet about “Larry” by calling the OTP the “biggest load of bulls**t I’ve ever heard.” However, undeterred “Larry” enthusiasts continue to share “Larry” Tumblr posts like the one below.

Meanwhile, there’s some less controversial One Direction news to report, and it involves Harry Styles using the same swear word mentioned above. According to Hollywood Life, Harry has finally responded to rumors that he’s going to leave One Direction for good to launch a solo career. During an interview on Alan Carr Chatty Man, Harry Styles insisted that he still plans on rejoining the boy band after the group’s upcoming break.
“Yeah it’s bulls–t,” Harry said in response to the rumors. “No. We all write kind of separately and for other people and do stuff and bring it back, and that is it really.”
In other words, Directioners shouldn’t freak out if Harry Styles collaborates with another artist during the band’s break — it doesn’t mean that he’s going to stop working with Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Liam Payne.
During One Direction’s Chatty Man appearance, Harry Styles also gave Directioners an update on the length of the band’s upcoming break. As Seventeen reports, Liam Payne previously said that their hiatus will last a whopping two years. However, now Harry Styles is saying that he expects the band to get back together in about 18 months.
At least Harry Styles isn’t letting the “Larries'” passion for their ship scare him away from rejoining One Direction in the future.
