‘Becoming Santa’: Lifetime TV Warms Up North Pole In Movie Starring Meredith Baxter, Michael Gross, And Laura Bell Bundy
Becoming Santa is a delightful wintry new movie starring Meredith Baxter and Michael Gross that will air on Lifetime Television this Saturday. Becoming Santa is part of Lifetime’s “Very Merry Christmas” programming line-up. Days ago, the Inquisitr brought you coverage of Karen Kingsbury’s the Bridge, another Christmas movie that aired on the channel for women last week. Becoming Santa tells the story of a man who goes to meet his girlfriend’s parents who turn out to be Santa and Mrs. Claus. It stars Laura Bell Bundy as Holly, Jesse Hutch as Connor, Tony Cavalero as Elf, and Meredith Baxter and Michael Gross as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, according to the Internet Movie Database (IMDB).

Lifetime’s Becoming Santa Synopsis
The holidays have arrived and its now time for Holly to introduce her fiancee/boyfriend to her parents. They’ve been dating for a while, and Holly has pushed this meeting between Connor and her parents off until the last possible minute. All Connor knows about his future in-laws is that they live “up North.” Not knowing much about them makes Connor nervous enough, but when Holly reveals that she is actually the child of Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, and that marrying her would put him next in line to becoming the next Santa, his head spins as he tries to figure out how to impress her parents and ask for their daughter’s hand in marriage. The edge is taken off a bit after Connor finally meets Santa and Mrs. Claus, who seem to like him, since he fits in perfectly and has a lot of Christmas spirit. But, despite the warm welcoming by her parents, there is one person back home who gives Connor one chilly reception — Jack Frost, Holly’s ex-beau.
In Becoming Santa, Michael Gross and Meredith Baxter reunite once again. And the on-screen chemistry, which is absolutely amazing, goes all the way back to their days working together on the 1980s hit TV show Family Ties. Meredith Baxter revealed in an interview that she enjoys working with Michael Gross, and that she has loved working with him since the first day they met on the set more than three decades ago. They also share the same birthday (June 21), which gives them a special connection. Baxter and Gross also worked together on Hallmark Channel’s 2012 movie, Naughty or Nice, according to the Los Angeles Times.
As for playing the role of Santa in Becoming Santa, Michael Gross didn’t think he’d fit the bill due to his tall and thin appearance. He says playing the role makes him have a new level of respect for real people who wear the itchy beard and lumpy suit each year in order to become Santa, according to an interview with Hollywood Today.
