Sorry, Kimye, Pete Wentz Named His Son Saint Before You

Kim Kardashian-West and Kanye West probably thought they were being clever or unique when they named their newborn boy Saint West. It turns out that they’re not the only parents in Hollywood who have a child with that name.

On Monday, Kim Kardashian West revealed on Twitter that she and her husband Kanye West have named their son Saint.

The news of their baby’s name has left some fans underwhelmed and slightly disappointed. In fact, some were hoping that Kardashian and West would name their child South West, especially after the birth of their daughter North West. But at least their child won’t feel alone knowing he’s the only one named Saint. Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and model Meagan Casper named their second son Saint Lazslo long before Kim and Kanye even thought of the name. He said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show that their little boy earned the name after waiting to be born on August 20, 2014, after Pete’s tour ended.

“I was really sure we were going to have to cancel a show, or that he was going to show up, and he didn’t. That’s why Saint ended up happening, which will be a problem, I feel, if he actually became a saint. That would be really weird.”

Pete Wentz was photographed at the airport just hours after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West announced the name of their newborn baby. The couple’s decision to name their son Saint West, sounds similar to Saint Lazslo Wentz. From now on, the child will be forever known as “the other Saint” in Hollywood.

According to the Daily Mail Online, the 36-year-old rocker looked down as he jetted out of Los Angeles airport in a gray hoodie, a black Terminator T-Shirt, black jeans, and black lace-up boots. Even some of Wentz’s fans have taken to Twitter to express their outrage over the name of Kimye’s baby, according to the British tabloid.

Some tweeted that Wentz’s son is “The Original Saint” and “Pete Wentz did it first,” accompanied with photos of the musician’s son. In addition, fans even posted memes of Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, but with Pete in the photo. The meme features Pete as Kanye and Kanye as Taylor, along with the caption, “Imma let you finish but Pete Wentz named his son Saint over a year ago.”

We know why Pete Wentz and Meagan Camper decided to name their son Saint, but how did Kim and Kanye come up with the name?

An insider close to the Kardashian-West couple said that they’ve been using the name for a while. The parents referred their newborn baby as a “saint” because they feel he was a miracle baby. Kardashian has been very open about her difficulty getting pregnant the second time around, as revealed in previous episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. She even revealed the name of her health condition in her September 2015 cover story with C Magazine.

“I had this condition called placenta accreta. There were a couple little operations to fix all that, so that created a little hole in my uterus, which I think made it really tough to get pregnant again. It was a long road. I would go to the doctor in Beverly Hills every day at five in the morning to get tested to see if I was ovulating… I was trying everything: I did acupuncture and got a nutritionist to eat healthier, thinking that was an issue.”

It’s also likely that they assumed they would have a Christmas baby, like reports claimed. But the word “saint” is close to West’s fashion background, as he previously studied at Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design. He also has songs names “Jesus Walks” and “I Am God,” which makes sense if you think about it. Saint is also the name of the couple’s favorite designer: Saint Laurent Paris.

No middle name has yet been announced for South West, though Kim Kardashian has said that she would like to use the name of her father, Robert Kardashian. But there’s no doubt that Saint will quickly become a hot baby name in the year 2016.
