Austin Matelson And Liz Nolan Together Again: ‘Big Brother 17’ Romance Continues To Flourish
Austin Matelson and Liz Nolan met during Season 17 of Big Brother this past summer, and they left the BB17 house as a couple. They have been in a long-distance relationship since then, but from the looks of things, the romance is still going strong. What’s the latest on Austin and Liz?
As Big Brother 17 fans know, Austin Matelson lives in California, while Liz Nolan and her twin sister, Julia, live in Florida. Liz and Julia mentioned a while back that they were working on relocating to California, and it looks like they are deep in the preparations of making that happen.
Both Austin and Liz share a lot of updates with BB17 fans via their social media pages, and it seems they have been able to spend quite a bit of time together lately. Matelson made a trip down to Florida to visit with Liz, and they hit up a Miami Heat basketball game while he was there.
It would seem that the duo squeezed in a bit of time on the beach and embraced the gorgeous weather during Austin’s trip. The Big Brother lovebirds also hit Art Basel for an art show, visited the Miami Zoo, and Julia joined them for a Florida Panthers hockey game during the trip, as well.
Just a few days later, Liz and Julia were on their way out to California. Basketball was on the to-do list again, as Austin and Liz headed to a Los Angeles Clippers game over the weekend. It wasn’t all indoor sports during recent outings, as Austin, Liz, and Julia took part in a toy drive in Santa Monica on Sunday. As they worked on gathering donations, they also embraced a “Wigs on ICE” event later in the day, and it would seem they had a bit of fun with this one.
How long can Austin and Liz manage this long-distance romance? The Nolan twins had mentioned a while back that they were planning to relocate to California, and now it seems they are making serious progress on that front. Liz tweeted during this trip to California that she and Julia would be doing some apartment hunting while in Los Angeles.

While it would appear that Liz and Julia are planning to get an apartment together in Los Angeles and pursue new work opportunities there, this certainly puts her very close geographically to Austin, as well. Instead of being a plane ride away, it sounds as if the BB17 lovebirds will likely be just a short drive apart. Fans have been buzzing that Liz and Julia are looking to make the move early in 2016.
Big Brother fans might have doubted Austin and Liz’s relationship as Season 17 ended, but so far, they are definitely proving their haters wrong. They appear to be the latest romantic success story coming out of the show, and there are a handful of other couples who met on Big Brother who are still a couple as well.
Though many BB fans think of long-lasting couples like Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Lloyd or Brendon Villegas and Rachel Reilly, Season 16 had a lasting romance emerge, as well. Nicole Franzel and Hayden Voss flirted throughout their season, had things heat up in the jury house, and are happily together now. In addition, Daniele Donato and Dominic Briones quietly started a full-fledged romance once they left Season 13, and they got married nearly three years ago.
While Big Brother fans will have to wait and see just how serious Austin Matelson and Liz Nolan’s romance gets, it is certainly a good sign that the Nolan twins are heading out West. They may be moving in large part due to the work opportunities a California residence brings, but it seems that Austin and Liz’s ongoing romance is a significant factor in the decision, as well, and BB17 fans can’t wait to see what comes next for them.
