‘Game of Thrones:’ Bono & RED AIDS Campaign Offer Chance To Win Tour Of Season 7 ‘GOT’ Set For World AIDS Day
To raise awareness on World AIDS Day, Bono of U2 has started a unique campaign giving donors a chance to win a visit to the Belfast sets of the popular TV series Game of Thrones, along with all sorts of other goodies.
With Season 6 of the popular HBO show Game of Thrones set to premier on April 24, 2016, shooting of scenes for that season are already underway in Northern Ireland.
In collaboration with his charity organization RED, Bono of U2 has started a new campaign aimed to give fans a chance to visit those sets and those to be used for shooting the upcoming Season 7.

As reported on the Winter is Coming website, the only condition is fans must first donate to Bono’s RED AIDS campaign to be entered to win, the monetary results of which will then be funneled through to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.
Besides donating to an excellent cause, donors who give varying amounts of money to the campaign get a chance to win a variety of Games of Thrones goodies, including, for example, Winter is Coming and Fire and Blood T-shirts, a mini replica Iron Throne, a replica map of Westeros complete with map markets, and autographed posters, among other GOT-related items.
For instance, $25 will give a chance to win the trip, plus a digital thank you card. A contribution of $50 will give a similar reward, along with a digital thank you video. A donation of $100 offers the chance to take the trip, plus win a much-sought-after T-shirt. For $500, you win a chance of taking the trip to the Game of Thrones set, along with a replica Iron Throne.
Go a little higher and $1,000 will give the opportunity to win the trip, plus a set of five Ceramic House Sigil Steins. A donation of $2,500 offers a chance to win the tour of the Game of Thrones set plus a great Stark Family Figurine Pack.
Game of Thrones autographed posters from Seasons 2, 3, and 5 are available to be won, along with the trip, by those who donate a hefty $3,500. Last, but definitely not least, a donation of $5,000 offers chances to win the trip to the set along with a replica map of Westeros and a set of map markers.
The trip to the Game of Thrones sets is scheduled to happen at some point between July and December of next year and will give winners a chance to visit the sound sets of the hit fantasy drama used by the cast and crew at a time when they are actually filming Season 7. This is unimaginably exciting.
How much would you bid for a chance to sit on the Iron Throne? (For charity, of course) https://t.co/dlPL9Qb1GA pic.twitter.com/8WmhHS206I

According to the official Omaze website, winners of the trip will get to go behind the scenes and see how the show is made first hand. The lucky winner and a friend will also get a VIP tour of the Game of Thrones set, sit on the infamous Iron Throne, and visit the armory to see the actual weapons used in the show as well as the costume department and leather-work area.
All this will include the flight to Belfast in Northern Ireland as well as accommodation in a four-star hotel. Not too shabby at all.
And that’s not all (as they always say in publicity videos). During the next six weeks, donors to the RED campaign can also bid for a chance to be complimented by Hollywood actor George Clooney, join actress Meryl Streep on the red carpet, toss a football with star quarterback Tom Brady, or go bike riding with Bono from U2 in Central Park.
Getting back to the Game of Thrones prize, according to Omaze, the whole thing will be legendary, but they offer a little advice: “Watch out for dragons on your flight in.”
