Miley Cyrus Continues Her Outlandish Activities As A Part Of Her New Tour
Miley Cyrus has become a magnet for the strange, and her latest concert series has done little to change that perception.
To support her new album, Miley Cyrus and The Flaming Lips will be on a short tour, entitled “The Milky Milky Milk Tour,” that will span eight cities across Canada and the United States. The musicians kicked off their tour in Chicago on November 19, 2015, with a show that garnered attention due to its use of theatrics and color. NME reports that Miley Cyrus wore a dildo on stage and, later in the show, sucked on one of her dancer’s breasts. She also had fans come up to the stage and stuff dollar bills into her mouth. Miley Cyrus continued her antics when she ripped out her fake dreadlocks while playing the piano in tribute to her dead fish.
Miley Cyrus has released a new music video for her song “Lighter,” and it is a kaleidoscope of colors. The song is off of her fifth studio album, Miley Cyrus and her Dead Petz, and the compilation was released for free on August 30, 2015, only on the streaming website SoundCloud. As the Guardian reports, it is over 90 minutes long and includes 23 tracks. Because of this, Miley Cyrus’s label, RCA, does not consider it to be an official album. The album includes multiple collaborations with alternative rock band The Flaming Lips.
It was at the end of the show that Miley Cyrus released the music video for “Lighter.” In the video, the singer appears topless and has a hallucinogenic rainbow of colors projected onto her body. Miley Cyrus released the video on her Facebook account along with a message for her fans.
“After our 1st show in Chicago (which was totally turnt) we loved seeing y’all singing along to all the Dead Petz [jams] but seemed like this one was a fan favorite. For all of you who can’t be with us in Detroit tonight and of course for all of you who will here is the official Lighter music video directed by me and Wayne Coyne featuring Jen Stark’s bad ass animated kaleidoscopic projections.”
The tour and record are just the latest projects that have kept Miley Cyrus busy with. She hosted the MTV Music Awards this summer and followed that hosting gig with another, serving as the host and musical guest on Saturday night Live for the season-opening show. She later played a big part in a Seth Rogen fundraiser, a faux Bar Mitzvah for James Franco. She’s was also awarded a LGBT Center Vanguard Award on November 7, 2015, where she continued to exhibit her bizarre behavior.
As the pop star turned 23 on November 23, 2015, what might be missing from her life is former boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. The two were together for five years and were even engaged before ending their relationship in September 2013.
As Now Magazine reports, both Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have been speaking more of each other lately. Both have had nothing but positive things to say about each other and their relationship. Liam Hemsworth alluded to their time together in the article, disclosing that certain feelings remain for the “We Can’t Stop” singer.
“You can never choose. I guess some people just come with a little more baggage. I mean, look—we were together five years, so I don’t think those feelings will ever change. And that’s good because that proves to me that it was real. It wasn’t just a fling.”
In a separate interview in September, Miley Cyrus reiterated his claim.
“Me and Liam are still so close,” Miley Cyrus said. “We love each other.”
The two have crossed paths since their breakup, including having dinner together in April at Soho House in Los Angeles. Whether they are dating again or not, they definitely remain on friendly terms.
Miley Cyrus will continue on her “Milky Milky Milk Tour” until December 19, 2015, when she performs in Los Angeles. The last year has been busy for Miley Cyrus, and no doubt the next year of her life will be more of the same.
