NXT Rumors: With Sami Zayn’s Return, These Two Stars May Be Called Up To WWE Soon
NXT is no longer seen as a training ground for WWE, but as its own entity with the goal of getting up to the main roster one day. Anyone that has started out in NXT or made their way through it by way of another promotion wants to be on WWE’s main roster, and that could be happening soon for two big talents. Sami Zayn’s return from injury may make way for Finn Balor and Baron Corbin to soon head to the main roster.
Zayn has been out for a very long time due to a serious injury that made him miss the majority of 2015. It happened at the worst time too as he was seemingly on his way to being called up to the main roster almost at any time.
Now, hints are being dropped that he would be heading back to NXT soon, and that his injury was healed up. Well, as reported by PW Mania, WWE confirmed this past week that Sami Zayn was indeed on his way back and it would be very soon.
Zayn is being advertised for the NXT tour of the United Kingdom in December, and he’s been back training at the Performance Center this past week. No one knows exactly when his return is going to happen, but vignettes have started being aired for him to make a comeback, and it’s got fans extremely excited.
To bring even more excitement to the fans and truly confirm his return, Zayn took to Twitter to give a simple message.
I’m coming back.

With Zayn’s return, it will bring another big name back into the talent pool, and that could actually help the main roster of WWE. With all of the injuries to big-time stars such as Daniel Bryan, Big Show, Seth Rollins, and Cesaro, the WWE roster has been decimated and dialed down a lot.
Zayn returning to NXT could make way for one or two big-time stars to end up being elevated to WWE’s main roster, and Cageside Seats is reporting that it could be both Finn Balor and Baron Corbin.
Finn Balor is currently the NXT Champion and will be defending his title against Samoa Joe at NXT Takeover: London on Dec. 16.
The match between the two former partners is one that fans have been clamoring for and can’t wait to see take place. Now, rumors of Balor moving up to WWE’s main roster are not confirmed at this time, but a loss of his title to Samoa Joe could hint strongly at him being on the move soon.
One other big name rumored to be heading up to WWE is that of Baron Corbin.

Corbin has been the subject of a lot of rumors this fall as some thought he would end up being the mystery partner of Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose back in September. That ended up being nothing but talk, and it was Chris Jericho who teamed up with the two in order to face The Wyatt Family at Night of Champions.
At NXT Takeover: London, Corbin will face off with Apollo Crews, one of the newer faces of the company. Corbin ended up costing Crews the NXT Title during the newcomer’s match with champion Finn Balor earlier this month.
Now, Crews will look for revenge, and Corbin will look to continue being dominant and possibly heading up to WWE soon.
Nothing is confirmed, but the results of NXT Takeover: London could say a lot about these rumors. If Baron Corbin and Finn Balor end up losing, then their elevation to WWE’s main roster could soon come, especially with Sami Zayn’s return on the horizon.
