Just a few days ago, the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War dropped and fans around the world went nuts for Marvel’s next film. Comic book fans are all wanting more though, and now they are getting it very soon. During Monday’s episode of Gotham , new footage of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will be coming to satisfy their hunger.
According to Collider , FOX has revealed that there will be an “exclusive preview” for DC’s huge superhero movie coming in 2016, and it will happen on Monday evening. Those watching Gotham will get the first look, but it will only be a matter of minutes (or seconds) until that footage lands online.
As you can see, the cast of Gotham is taking sides in who they believe will win the war between Batman and Superman. Some previously released footage and trailer clips are thrown in between the selections, but nothing new is shown.
Fox is essentially going about this in a smart way as Monday’s episode of Gotham is the midseason finale before it goes on hiatus until February of next year. Putting the new footage of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice somewhere during the show’s airing, and not letting fans know when, will bring in some extra viewers.

When Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice drops into theaters in late March, it is going to open the door for a whole slew of new films in the DC Movie Universe.
Not only is the movie going to pit Superman and Batman together and against one another, but a number of other characters will be introduced. The world will meet Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Aquaman, The Flash, and a number of others as DC prepares for their different phases, as Marvel has done with The Avengers .

A great point made by SlashFilm is that Marvel has a lot of their film’s new footage shown during Agents of SHIELD, so DC figures they can do the same. It makes a lot of sense and immediately hits their target audience.
It also brings in those that may not be watching their TV series.
A new trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected, or rumored, to be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens . The latest epic in the saga is to be released on Dec. 18, but the early showings will take place on Dec. 17 and there would be millions upon millions in theaters to see it.

The comic book movie universe is just getting bigger all the time, and the next five years alone will have numerous films from both Marvel and DC. Needless to say, it’s an exciting time to be a fan.
Captain America: Civil War is going to be released on May 6, and that’s a mere month and a half after Dawn of Justice . Considering the usually long lifespan of comic book movies in theaters, it will be interesting to see how Marvel affects the box office of DC once they are both officially released.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jason Mamoa, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Ezra Miller, Michael Shannon, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and many more. It is set to hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
The new footage of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice coming on Monday during Gotham is only going to be the beginning. If that new trailer is released in mid-December, fans can consider it a Christmas present from DC Comics as one of next year’s biggest movies gets ever closer.
