Monsters University: Mike And Sully Go To College [Video]
Pixar will be revisiting two of its greatest characters next Summer. Mike Wazowski and James P. “Sulley” Sullivan from Monsters, Inc. will be starring in a brand new movie, “Monsters University,” in 2013.
The movie will be a prequel to the 2001 classic Monsters, Inc., showing Mike and Sulley training to be scary monsters during their college days.
The Huffington Post reports that Billy Crystal, Steve Buscemi, and John Goodman will reprise their roles in the new movie.
Crystal, who recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of another classic film, City Slickers, said:
“We’re having a blast together. It’s really a great script, it’s really funny…. The Pixar people are geniuses. It’s 10 years since the first movie. Yeah, it’s crazy. And it’s a prequel. They’re in college. It’s how they met, it’s how Michael and Sully meet, and plan to become scarers at Monsters, Inc. So this movie ends where the other one starts… It’s college pranks with monsters. And I wear a retainer. Mike has a retainer.”
Dan Scanlon, who will be directing the new movie, said:
“This is about showing youthful exuberance and fun… Just Mike and Sulley being wild and young feels right.”
Monsters University is scheduled to be released in the Summer of 2013.
