Rumors of Sting appearing at Survivor Series ran wild for a couple of weeks before the event, and he never showed up to help The Undertaker and Kane. Now, no one knows when the icon will be seen again, but talk is already starting about him possibly appearing at WWE WrestleMania 32 . Sure, it’s a number of months away still, but the build-up will start soon, and there’s a big backstage update on if “The Vigilante” will be there or not.
PW Insider’s newsletter is reporting that as of about a week ago, there is no real backstage talk of Sting appearing at WrestleMania 32 at all.
Now, it is just November, and the event won’t take place until April 3, 2016, so there is a lot that can change before then. Matches and programs really won’t truly start being built until January, and appearances could be kept a secret until the day of the event itself.
With not knowing if Sting will be there or not, there’s also been no real talk about him taking on The Undertaker either. Sting is said to be healthy enough to wrestle again after his injury at Night of Champions , but for now, WWE won’t have it be against The Undertaker.
WrestleZone is reporting that WWE officials are still planning to go ahead with The Undertaker vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 32 . That match has been discussed internally since August and appears to be the plan they are going to stick to.
This is a change from the discussed plan of Roman Reigns going into the PPV as the WWE Champion and John Cena having won the Royal Rumble to face off against him in the main event. If that is the case, though, one has to wonder who will face off with Reigns.
Even though Sheamus just took the WWE Title off of Reigns, Cageside Seats is reporting that doesn’t matter for the future . The plan is still to have Roman Reigns go into WrestleMania 32 as the champion or at least as the challenger.
Plans for WrestleMania 32 have already changed considerably and likely still will before it actually happens.
Rumors had Triple H taking on Seth Rollins in a bit of a “teacher vs. mentor” match, but word is that was never a match WWE had in mind. It could happen sometime down the line, but Rollins’ injury and time out has everything involving him up in the air.
The Rock was then tapped to be Triple H’s opponent, but the movie he will be filming won’t allow him to wrestle. He may make an appearance at WrestleMania 32 , but he won’t be stepping in the ring for a match.
Along with Rollins being out, it’s not known if Cesaro and Randy Orton will be back from their injuries by the time WrestleMania 32 arrives. That leaves at least three big names off the card and their spots will need to be filled.
All of this talk about big matches and Brock Lesnar’s name is nowhere to be seen.
First, Lesnar was going to have his final match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 , but that feud is now officially over. Next, he was going to face The Rock, but that can’t happen. Rumors say he could still end up in the Rumble match, win it, and go on to main event for the WWE Title.
WrestleMania 32 seems to have a lot of question marks right now with The Undertaker, Triple H, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and others. Sting wouldn’t be there if the event was today, but there is a lot of time before it happens and anything is possible.
