Mafia Heir Warns ISIS That New York Is Off Limits And Asks Robert De Niro And Al Pacino To Step Up In War On Terror
The son of a New York mobster has warned ISIS to stay the hell out of the Big Apple and believes “Hollywood gangsters” such as Robert De Niro and Al Pacino need to step up to the plate and publicly make a stand against ISIS.
Giovanni Gambino, whose father is a key figure in the Gambino crime syndicate, has declared that the Sicilian mafia is ready to go to war with the Islamic State
The Daily Mail reports that in an interview with a Dutch radio station, Gambino stressed that Homeland Security and the FBI are limited by restrictions in their fight against ISIS and often act only after the damage has already been done due to their failure to appreciate the big picture.
Gambino also claimed such agencies do not always have their finger on the pulse because they lack the sort of “human intelligence,” which can capture, track the movement, and possess knowledge of certain individuals better than any technology.
“The world is dangerous today, but people living in New York neighborhoods with Sicilian connections should feel safe. We make sure our friends and families are protected from extremists and terrorists, especially the brutal, psychopathic organization that calls itself the Islamic State.
“The Mafia and its allies, however, are connected to neighborhoods in a meaningful way. Wherever the Sicilian influence is strong in New York, ISIS interlopers simply won’t be able to set up shop.”
Gambino also explained that because ISIS fears the Sicilian Mafia, no terrorist attacks have taken place on the island of Sicily, and no underground cells will ever take root there.
The Daily Express reports that police in Southern Italy have admitted that they would not be able to control Islamist plots in their area if it wasn’t for the Mafia.
A security official revealed that ISIS will not enter areas such as Sicily, Calabria, Puglia, and Campania — including the city of Naples — because they are scared of being taken out by mob bosses.
“Italy is able to protect itself from terrorist attacks in just two ways – the precise processing of ‘weak signals’ that allows wiretapping and targeted preventive interventions, and with the Mafia.”
Gambino believes the rise of global terrorism is an ideal opportunity for the Mafia to show its good side and reinforce that at heart they are very much a community-based organization.
“The Mafia has a bad reputation, but much of that’s undeserved. As with everything in life, there are good, bad and ugly parts – the rise of global terrorism gives the Mafia a chance to show its good side.”
Successive U.S. presidents have diverted funding traditionally used to fight organized crime into combatting the threat from ISIS and other terrorist groups.
In the aftermath of the Paris attacks, mobsters have reportedly assured local communities they are working to stop any such attacks from happening on the streets of their neighborhood.
Many believe that if New York’s infamous “five families” — the Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese, and Lucchese — have decided to join the fight against Islamist extremism, then they would present a formidable threat to ISIS’ hopes of launching an attack in America’s biggest city.
Gambino has also said that “Hollywood gangsters” such as Robert De Niro and Al Pacino need to do more when it comes to taking a stand against ISIS, and revealed how disappointed he was that “these guys who want to play the big boss in gangster movies,” are not available for comment when it comes to fighting Islamic State.
“I’m a big fan of Hollywood acting. My number one is De Niro, And my number two is Pacino.I’m disappointed in Hollywood actors that they’re not stepping up and speaking out in public. Especially these guys who want to play the big boss in gangster movies.
“Why not send a strong message that we are all together in fighting this monster called ISIS.”
In the same interview, Gambino also pointed out that Saddam Hussein was a massive fan of the Godfather trilogy which featured both Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.
