The First Trailer For ‘Captain America: Civil War” Has Finally Dropped, And Posters Too

Many have been waiting for it, and now it has finally arrived. Disney and Marvel have finally released the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War, and it pits Chris Evans as Captain America vs. Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man. To say it is “epic” is quite the understatement, as it has proven to be well worth the wait.

Marvel is purposely getting across the point in this first trailer for the film that it is indeed the third movie in the Captain America franchise. Coming along for the ride is a gigantic cast of big-time actors as huge Marvel characters, but the movie itself is about the hero with the shield.

As revealed by Superhero Hype, the film picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Cap is leading a team of “new” Avengers to protect humanity in the world. Check out the trailer below.

Another international incident has left a lot of damage at the hands of the Avengers trying to save the world and keep everyone protected. This is when the government steps in on things and decides that something needs to be done.

Stepping in with the government is Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, who believes that something needs to change. This leads to a major rift between the two superheroes as a deadly new villain begins to threaten everyone’s existence.

Along with the first trailer for Captain America: Civil War came a few awesome posters that are only the beginning of the promotional onslaught.

This is the kickoff of Phase 3 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it’s only going to keep on getting bigger, per Wired.

There truly are some awesome moments in this first trailer for Captain America: Civil War, and so much more coming. Here are a few key points to look for or to go back and watch again and again in the trailer.

• 0:51 – William Hurt aka General Ross is the new government enforcer who sees Captain America as a “vigilante.”
• 0:57 – The Sokovia Accords is spotted. It’s a document that is incredibly important and kicks off the fight between the superheroes.
• 1:46 – Iron Man and War Machine go face-to-face with Captain America, Hawkeye, and the Scarlet Witch.
• 1:51 – A short sighting of Black Panther.
• 1:59 – Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier grabs hold of Tony Stark’s arc reactor.
• 2:13 – Iron Man is at a big disadvantage in taking on Captain America and the Winter Soldier on his own.

This is truly the big one, as Phase 3 is set to begin a spiral downward for the Marvel heroes before they come back together to face a common foe. Fans have wanted this, heard about it, and dreamed about it for months.

Now, they’re finally getting it, and it’s honestly something that was well worth the wait. The trailer is better than anyone even expected it to be. Captain America: Civil War is truly almost here.

Captain America: Civil War is scripted by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (Captain America: The Winter Soldier), the film also stars Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Emily VanCamp, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, Daniel Brühl, and Tom Holland. Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.

This is the Marvel movie that fans have truly been waiting for, and there are still six months until it even hits theaters. Captain America: Civil War has the possibility of being absolutely huge, and the anticipation of this first trailer proves that it probably will be.
