Christie Brinkley Honored For Environmental Work
Christie Brinkley has been recognised for her environmental work with a party held in her honor over the weekend.
Sporting a stunning turquoise wrap dress, the 58-year-old model and her children, Sailor, 13, Alexa Ray, 26 (above, right), and Jack, 17, appeared at the South Fork Natural History Museum 23rd annual summer benefit, SOFO Goes SOHO.
The museum was honoring Brinkley for her work in promoting environmental issues – the former model and now actress and activist is a dedicated supporter of numerous green organizations and causes, as well being a keen backer of children’s welfare charities and nuclear disarmament campaigns.
At the party, Christie was presented with a Buddhist scroll, which read, ‘Happiness is not so much is having as in sharing.’ Writing on her Facebook page after the event, Brinkley gushed:
“I was so excited to have ALL THREE of my babies for this lovely honor … It was such a beautiful setting and I met so many great people all involved in making our world a better place! Sailor, Alexa, and Jack sure have sprouted up right?”
The celebration was DJed by Keith Richards’ daughter Alexandra, as guests drank custom cocktails.
Brinkley has just finished a spell on stage playing Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago. The production finished its two-week run at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. Before her last show, the model and actress wrote on Facebook:
“We just finished the matinee and we only have one more show to go! I LOVE everybody so much… and this whole wonderful adventure has been such a joy! Such an honor , a privilege, a dream come true! These are the NOWADAYS that I will always remember with love and gratitude!!!!”
