‘Teen Mom 2’: Did MTV Pay For Chelsea Houska’s Engagement Ring?
The Teen Mom 2 girls are used to people speculating about them and rumors about their lives circulating around the internet, but one of the girls’ fathers isn’t taking it lying down. Randy Houska, father of Chelsea Houska, says what he means and means what he says.
According to Us Weekly Magazine, Randy Houska took to his Twitter account to congratulate his daughter, Chelsea Houska, and her new fiance, Cole DeBoer, on their engagement and welcome Cole in to his crazy family saying, “Finally got to see @ChelseaHouska in person yesterday. Cole did pretty good on #THEROCK. Welcome to the crazy #houskaworld Cole.”
One fan then replied, “You mean MTV did good?”, implying that the network actually put up the money and paid for Chelsea Houska’s engagement ring because she is the star of Teen Mom 2. “No, I mean Cole did good #readwhatIwrote,” Randy quickly replied, shutting down the rumor that DeBoer didn’t pay for the gorgeous diamond engagement ring he gave Chelsea earlier this month.
It would seem that dad approves. Randy Houska has done nothing but praise Cole DeBoer since he and Chelsea Houska began dating. Randy, who was probably happy that Chelsea didn’t end up with her baby daddy, Adam Lind, even posted a photo of himself and Cole online with the caption, “Prince Charming > toad. Ready to add another #soninlaw Lesson to you all: #DoNotSettleForLessThanYouDeserve Congrats @ChelseaHouska & Cole.”
After announcing the engagement, the Teen Mom told her online followers that she feels so blessed to have Cole DeBoer in her life. “I honestly cannot believe how lucky I am. Finally found my Prince Charming and I get to be with him for the rest of my life!”
Chelsea Houska and Cole DeBoer met over a year ago at a gas station and hit it off immediately. The adorable couple began dating, and things quickly got serious. During the previous season of Teen Mom 2, the couple moved in together, and it seemed that Cole was ready to be a full-time father figure to Chelsea’s daughter, Aubree Houska, whose father is Adam Lind.During the season, Aubree would make comments to Chelsea Houska about wishing her own father acted more like Cole DeBoer, and even asked her mother if she could call Cole dad after he moved in. Well, soon it will be official, and Cole will be Aubree’s stepfather. It should be interesting to see whether or not the 5-year-old will be calling Cole “dad” when Teen Mom 2 returns with new episodes in 2016, and how Adam will take the news of Chelsea’s engagement.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Teen Mom 2 cast has also been busy. Kailyn Lowry wrote another book and has been on a book tour recently, while Jenelle Evans and Nathan Griffith are still struggling a bit to co-parent their son, Kaiser. Jenelle has also found love again and is dating a man named David Easom. However, it is Leah Messer who has had the most drama over the past year.
Teen Mom 2 viewers watched Leah Messer struggle to parent her three daughters alone while divorcing Jeremy Calvert during the previous season of the reality series. She also entered a 30-day rehab program and claimed to be getting her life in better order and taking better care of herself and her daughters. However, after the season finale of the show, news broke that Leah actually lost primary custody of her twin daughters, Ali and Aleeah, to her ex-husband, Corey Simms. Most recently, the Teen Mom 2 star reportedly believes that Corey Simms and his wife, Miranda Patterson, asked the twins teachers to lie about the days that the girls were tardy or absent from school and plans to fight to get her daughters back.
