‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Star Jamie Dornan Is ‘Looking Forward To Embodying Christian’ For ‘Fifty Shades Darker’
With the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey expected to start production in the coming months, Fifty Shades Darker star Jamie Dornan is more than eager to reprise his role in the hit erotic drama. In fact, Dornan recently sat down with People and revealed just how thrilled he is to once again play the role of Christian Grey in the film, which is due to be released in 2017.
Dornan will once again join fellow co-star Dakota Johnson as the two play out the romantic love interest between Dornan’s billionaire Grey and Johnson’s college graduate Anastasia Steele. In regards to playing his character in the sequel, Dornan stated that he is excited to explore his character in new ways and see Christian further develop as the series enters its second film.
“I’m looking forward to embodying Christian again – and getting a chance to show more of him,” Dornan told the outlet.
Fifty Shades Darker is based on the second book in the series written by E.L. James and will explore the complicated relationship that continues to develop between Anastasia, who recently graduated college, and Grey. In doing so, it will introduce a number of new characters and set the stage for the third movie in the franchise, Fifty Shades Freed.
Although Dornan is clearly getting anxious about starring in the hit franchise once more, there is one thing that he is not looking forward to as production kicks off in Canada. In particular, the actor is not thrilled about having to work in the Vancouver rain, where filming is set to begin in the coming months. Luckily, this isn’t enough for Dornan to not want to start filming as soon as he can. While filming is still a few months away from starting, Dornan is currently getting ready to expand his family with the introduction of another child. According to Entertainment Weekly, Dornan and his wife, Amelia Warner, are set to have their second child. The delivery date of their new child has not been announced, but it is expected to happen soon.
At the same time, Dornan is currently trying his best to avoid fans of the hit erotic drama while filming for a TV series in Ireland. Dornan is working on the BBC psychological drama, The Fall, and stated that the question he always gets asked while out and about is, “Can I get a Selfie?”
Apart from dodging Fifty Shades fans, Dornan went on to admit that he really enjoys the filming location for The Fall. In fact, Dornan revealed that being able to visit Belfast is one of his favorite things about being a part of the crime thriller. This is understandable, especially considering how Belfast is where Dornan identifies as his true hometown.“Getting to film in Belfast (where I grew up) and being surrounded by fellow Irish people,” Dornan explained in the interview, referencing his favorite thing about the series.
Although Dornan may love filming in Belfast and playing the part of serial killer Paul Spector, fans of Fifty Shades of Grey can’t wait to see the actor back in a silver tie. Luckily, production for Fifty Shades is only a few months away from ramping up, and it won’t be long before the next film in the franchise hits theaters everywhere.
Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled to arrive in theaters in February of 2017. At the same time, Fifty Shades Freed is set to be released in February of 2018. With the release date only a little more than a year away, it won’t be long before production starts for the highly anticipated sequel.
