WWE Rumors, Spoilers: Top Rumors Going Into ‘Survivor Series’ Tonight — Major Heel Turn, WWE Title Winner, ISIS
Tonight, WWE is set and ready to put on Survivor Series even though the show is the subject of a possible terrorist threat from ISIS. The card really doesn’t seem that stacked despite the WWE World Heavyweight Title Tournament, and one big reason is the lack of a traditional elimination tag team match. Still, there are a lot of rumors flying around and one includes the possibility a major heel turn.
At first, many people thought they knew what was going to happen and that it was obvious Roman Reigns would be winning the WWE Title. Well, that may not be the case now, and it appears things are up in the air.
As WrestleZone reported, Roman Reigns is indeed the favorite to win the whole tournament and walk out of tonight’s event as WWE Champion. That’s just the odds though, and WWE does like to swerve a crowd. Here are the top rumors heading into tonight’s Pay-Per-View.
1. Roman Reigns wins the WWE Title and the fans rain down on himIf Roman Reigns does win the WWE Title, there is a very good chance he will get a reaction of John Cena proportions. Maybe about one-fourth of the crowd will cheer for his victory and long-anticipated title win. The other three-fourths of the crowd will come down on him as much as humanly possible.
With two current champions in the tournament i.e. Alberto Del Rio and Kevin Owens combing with fan-favorite Dean Ambrose, a Reigns title win could spell disaster.
2. Roman Reigns wins the WWE Title, turns heel, joins The Authority
WWE could swerve everyone and have Reigns stop being the goody-goody strong guy, and just fake an issue with Triple H and company all night before joining forces with them. It kind of mirrors something that happened at Survivor Series back in 1998.
There was a tournament for the WWE Title that year, too, and the final match had Mankind vs. The Rock and a turn by Rock that led to him joining The Corporation. Roman Reigns is related to The Rock and could find himself in exactly the same situation tonight.
Reigns gets into the finals, turns heel on his opponent, and wins the WWE Title with the help of The Authority. He joins forces with them and appears the next night on Monday Night Raw and lets the fans know he doesn’t need to explain himself because he’s the champion.
3. Dean Ambrose turns heel, wins the WWE Title
Dean Ambrose has been kind of floundering for the past few months and doesn’t have much of a direction. Now, he’s on fire again and drawing a lot of attention, but he needs that little something extra to push him forward. Winning the WWE Title is a big something extra, but turning heel is even better.
If it’s not a heel turn by Reigns, then it’s highly-expected that one will happen by Ambrose, and that could be whether he wins the title or not. Man Eater Sports says that it’s “more likely” for Ambrose to make the turn and it’s something that has been a long time coming and hinted at by WWE.4. ISIS ends up doing nothing and the threat goes unmerited
The fact that WWE ended up on a list of possible terrorist threats from ISIS shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. Not only would it bring a lot of attention, but it would be a location with a lot of people in one place as the Survivor Series takes place at The Phillips Arena in Atlanta, GA tonight. Triple H has issued a final statement regarding the situation.
“Federal, state and local law enforcement authorities have confirmed there is no specific or credible information involving a threat against tomorrow’s WWE Survivor Series at Philips Arena. However, WWE and Philips Arena have coordinated with the appropriate agencies and law enforcement, and significantly increased security measures to ensure the safety of all those in attendance, which is our highest priority. Doors will open at 6 p.m. to help fans avoid any delays in entering the arena due to the additional precautionary security procedures put in place. Fans are encouraged to take public transportation (MARTA) to the event and are advised that bags will not be permitted in the arena.”
WWE is taking no chances with even the hint of a possible threat from ISIS. There are a lot of safety measures in place, and there will be no way that anything is overlooked.
Even with a small card slated for tonight’s Survivor Series, WWE is prepared to bring forth a lot of surprises. They will make sure to take the ISIS threat seriously and keep the fans entertained with a title tournament and rumored big heel turn.
