The Inquisitr recently covered a new movie on their sister channel (Hallmark) entitled Northpole: Open For Christmas. The Christmas Ornament, also known as Christmas Ornament, originally premiered on the Hallmark Channel in 2013, but it will be new for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries fans. It stars Jewel Staite as Jewel, Brendan Meyer as Connor, Matthew Kevin Anderson as Ben Lowe, Cole Vigue as Graham, and television actress Kellie Martin as Kathy Howard and her on-screen love interest, Cameron Mathison, as Tim Pierce, according to Broadway World.
The Christmas Ornament: Synopsis
Filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and produced by Front Street Pictures and Side Street Post, The Christmas Ornament follows Kathy Howard, a sad and lonely widow who is not looking forward to decking the halls or putting up Christmas ornaments this year. Having lost her husband to death a little less than a year ago, Kathy wants to pull the covers over her head, until Christmas passes. Her best friend, Jenna, is worried about her, and doesn’t want her to spend time alone this holiday season. Jenna believes that things could get better for Kathy if she would try dating and getting out more.
But, Kathy has made it crystal clear that it is too soon to even think about dating another man, especially around Christmas. Christmas time was a special time that she shared with her husband, and she doesn’t want to do anything that will make her forget those wonderful and cherished memories. However, when a local tree farmer shows up on her doorstep with a special tree from her home, warm feelings begin to creep up, making her desire to know more about him.
A friendship and a relationship slowly develops between the two as they share tender moments on the ice, since they are both avid skaters. As she looks at Tim Pierce a little more closely, she sees that he is a good, solid fellow who adores Christmas and has a mild obsession with Christmas trees. Will Kathy break out the Christmas ornaments that she has hidden away? And will she allow these new feelings of love deepen even more so that she learns to love again, while keeping the memory of her husband alive? You simply must tune in to The Christmas Ornament tonight at 7/6 central to see how the story ends. You won’t be disappointed.

The Christmas Ornament is a movie about finding love and hope again after the death of a spouse. And visually, the movie has all of the ornaments of what true a holiday movie should possess, ice skating, tree decorating, cookie baking, and, of course, love.
Decorated houses and Christmas carols make this time of year particularly depressing for some. The kindness exhibited in this movie is similar to the kindness shown in a new television commercial where an older man watches as a young woman across the street decorates her home on a cold winter’s night. Watching her put up the ornaments reminds the old widower of life at home with his wife and family years prior. The female neighbor notices this and decides to decorate the outside of the man’s home with Christmas lights. When the old man returns, he is overtaken with emotion due to her generous act of kindness. The commercial has made many people weep because they say that commercial captures the true meaning of Christmas—giving joy.
