Northpole: Open For Christmas focuses on an elf named Clementine, a girl who has been sent on a very important mission — one that will prove to be the most difficult but the most rewarding one of her life. Santa’s mission for Clementine involves a woman named Mackenzie who has recently inherited an old inn that belonged to her deceased aunt. The busy working woman used to love Christmas time, but now has very little time to focus on what’s important. When she finds out that she will be the new owner of the inn, she immediately plans to sell it. Now, it’s up to Clementine to convince Mackenzie that keeping the inn and restoring it will bring a lot of joy back to the community. After mulling over the decision, Mackenzie decides to keep the inn and fix it up for a new owner. But that won’t work because it is meant for Mackenzie to fix it up and keep it going before Christmas so that Santa can power up his slay to travel all around the world.
Magical things begin to happen after Mackenzie starts restoring the inn to its once beautiful state. She realizes that the joy and magic that she sees in Bailee is the same joy that she used to have as a little girl about Christmas. Just as she softens up to the idea, she meets the handsome Jack, a handsome handyman who begins to steal Mackenzie’s heart. Will the restoration of the inn make Mackenzie realize what is important in life, such as friends, love, family, and the tradition of Christmas?
In a behind-the-scenes interview, Lori Loughlin reflects on the many traditions that she remembers from her childhood. She has taken some of those traditions and family Christmas recipes and incorporated them into her own life with her beautiful children and husband. Decorating the tree, opening presents, and spending Christmas Eve with friends are all memories that families can build together, she believes.
Working alongside Dermot Mulroney and Bailee Madison was a real treat for Lori Loughlin. According to her, Dermot Mulroney is a nice, down-to-earth family man who is a dream to work with. And Bailee Madison is a loving, caring, and talented young woman who brings a lot to the role as Clementine.
