Rumors about possible sequels aside, one thing that is happening for sure in The Twilight Saga universe is Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
Although BD – Part 2 doesn’t hit theaters until November 16, Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate are clearly cranking up the promo.
Yesterday, Summit announced a teaser trailer would be released on Wednesday June 20 to mark the 111th birthday of Edward Cullen – and today a sneak peek of that teaser was unveiled.
In addition to first look pictures of Mackenzie Foy – aka Renesmee Cullen – and an exclusive roll out of stills in Monday’s Entertainment Weekly, this 10 second clip is an opportunity for (interested-but-not-fans) viewers to get an idea of what’s in store.
Apart from the harrowing birth scene that introduced audiences to Renesmee – the half-vamp/half-human daughter of Bella and Edward (Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson) – one of the most dramatic scenes in Part 1 was the final shot of Bella opening blood-red eyes the moment her heart stopped beating.
In Part 2 , the new parents’ joy is cut short by the news that the Volturi (a sort of vampire Royal Family) are hell-bent on destroying their daughter, due to a false accusation that Renesmee is a created vampire (i.e bitten.)
Apparently with the Volturi, inflicting pain on humanity for millennia is okay but “making” an Immortal Child is a total no-no.
So what else happens?
Among other things: vampire covens from all over the world fly into Forks to help the Cullen clan defend their newest member. Meanwhile the Volturi go Black-Ops on everyone in sight.
Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) – as Renesmee’s protector – will no doubt also have something to say about the situation . And if you’ll notice in the clip; faster, stronger, better, vamp Bella looks ready for action. Like ready .
In short, things are going to get hectic .
Watch the 10 second clip here, the full length teaser drops tomorrow. Interesting details discussed here .
