Avril Lavigne, Ryan Cabrera Living Together: Are They Dating?
Talk about an early 2000s throwback! Avril Lavigne and Ryan Cabrera are reportedly living together shortly after Cabrera’s split.
Let’s take a trip back to 2004, shall we? Avril Lavigne and Ryan Cabrera have been sparking dating rumors since they’ve been spotted out and about in Los Angeles. Now it turns out that the two musicians are actually living together. According to E! News, Cabrera moved into Lavigne’s house shortly after he broke up with his live-in girlfriend and digital host of Entertainment Tonight, Katie Krause. The entertainment news channel claims that Cabrera’s partying ways led to their split.
Avril and Ryan have been friends for about 12 years. Sources close to the roommates claim that they’re still “just friends.”
This isn’t the first time that the singers and songwriters have sparked dating rumors. Cabrera and Lavigne were spotted enjoying dinner at Lisa Vanderpump’s new restaurant Pump in West Hollywood. An insider told E! News that the two were very “chill” with each other and didn’t look romantic during their dinner. It turns out that Cabrera and Lavigne’s dinner was nothing more than a friendly double date.
“[Avril] came with a guy and a lady and they sat for dinner. They were just hanging out and having happy conversation.”
The insider added that the two singers dined for nearly four hours since they ordered appetizers as well as entrees, along with glasses of champagne and wine that kept flowing.
Even if Avril and Ryan aren’t dating at the moment, they’re still a perfect match for each other, according to a previous report via Crushable. That’s because Ryan is totally Avril’s type. She was married to Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley in 2006. But they divorced in 2009, and Avril then later moved on to Brody Jenner of 2000s pop culture fame and reality shows like The Hills. She then began dating Chad Kroeger from the Canadian band Nickelback in July 2012.
As for Ryan, he’s been most known for dating Ashlee Simpson. He wrote the song “On the Way Down” about the former punk princess. She even appeared in Ryan’s music video, as you can see below.
He paid his dues by appearing regularly on The Ashlee Simpson Show and had a few hit songs at the time. Ryan then disappeared from the music scene until he dated Audrina Patridge from The Hills. Looks like Avril and Ryan have something else in common! They both dated reality stars from the MTV series.
Ryan Cabrera and Avril Lavigne were first spotted picking pumpkins like a happy couple in Los Angeles in the early part of November. The photos were then published on Radar Online, causing some to wonder if the two were dating. Sure, Cabrera isn’t Canadian like some of Lavigne’s exes, but he does come from that 2004 pop-punk era. It also looks like both singers are into having long-term relationships.
The news of Avril’s living arrangements come after her recent separation from Chad Kroeger. The couple shared the news with their fans on Instagram back in September 2015.
“It is with heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today. Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support.”
Lavigne and Kroeger were engaged after just one month and six days of dating in August 2012. They then married in France but have been bombarded by split rumors ever since.
Reports about the couple’s troubled relationship first sparked when Avril appeared to her 30th birthday party in September 2014 without her wedding ring or her husband by her side. When the pop star revealed to People magazine that she’s battling Lyme disease, she also admitted that her mother moved in with her as Chad toured with his band. The alt-rocker was then spotted at a Miami strip club back in August 2015 after Nickelback cancelled their tour due to a cyst found on Chad’s voice box.
It seems like Avril and Ryan are supporting each other in light of their recent breakups. Do you think the pop-punk rockers would make the perfect couple? Share your thoughts below in the comments section.
