Several media outlets are reporting that ISIS supporters celebrated the Paris attacks using “Paris is burning” hashtags on social media, as reported by Newsweek?. ISIS supporters reportedly used “?????_?????,” which translates loosely as “Paris burns” or “Paris ignites” to hijack the hashtag and celebrate the Paris attacks.
According to Deborah Feyerick of CNN, a police source has claimed that ISIS wants to attack Rome, New York, and Washington, D.C., in the wake of the Paris attacks, with the authority calling the ISIS attacks only a matter of time. The deep level of planning that those who carried out the Paris attacks underwent has been noted as something that likely took months and months to plan.

The “?????_?????” hashtag now has all sorts of tweets attached to it on Twitter, with tweets about Twitter allegedly banning the hashtag to those that use it to say that not all Muslims are hateful. Not only did ISIS supporters celebrate Paris attacks on Twitter, reports the New York Daily News?, a video of ISIS concerning the Paris attacks is also making the rounds, trying to encourage ISIS supporters to use any means necessary to kill others — including poison.
“Even poison is available, so poison the water and food of at least one of the enemies of Allah.”
As reported by Heavy, the video allegedly released by ISIS in 2014 is now gaining attention in the wake of the Paris attacks because the video calls on people to kill others in France. The video shows men burning their French passports and tries to encourage other Muslims to kill French people “in the name of Allah” if they can’t get to Iraq or Syria. The ISIS video goes on to criticize American ideals of democracy and the freedom of religion.
Another report claims to have the official response from ISIS about the attacks in Paris, as reported by Heavy. The statement rants on, calling the horrific attacks in Paris a “blessed attack” that was successful in the eyes of ISIS.
“The Very High All Said: “It is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah ; but [the decree of] Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts [so] they destroyed their houses by their [own] hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision.” Surah 59 verse 2.
“In a blessed attack for which Allah facilitated the causes for success, a faithful group of the soldiers of the Caliphate, may Allah dignify it and make it victorious, launched out, targeting the capital of prostitution and obscenity, the carrier of the banner of the Cross in Europe, Paris…”
Worldwide reactions to Friday’s attacks in Paris have shown solidarity with France as the country deals with the tragedy.
