Although Khloe Kardashian has been by his side throughout his entire hospitalization, she’s been widely criticized for continuing to take on work-related obligations such as promoting of her book during his downfall. But the 31-year-old reality star wants to set the record straight about the book situation, insisting that her obligations were already pre-planned and the book tour just happened to be around the same time, reports Radar Online .
“This was preplanned forever, me having my book and this was always my press time. It’s really awkward to be promoting a book. My heart and mind are in the hospital with someone else.”
The former NBA star suffered a number of medical complications including kidney failure and brain damage, although reports have not been released detailing the extent of his injuries. However, there’s one person that doesn’t exactly know what happened – Lamar Odom.
Surprisingly, Khloe Kardashian has revealed Lamar Odom doesn’t even know why he’s been hospitalized and doesn’t remember any of the events that took place prior to his hospitalization. She also explained why she’s been advised to refrain from telling him. Khloe also revealed some of the struggles Lamar is currently faced with, confirming that “cognitively it is a long, long road ahead.”
“Well I can’t…we tell him he had a brain injury. But I can’t tell him how that brain injury was caused because it will set him back.”
“He couldn’t put a lot of words together today. But he understands,” she explained and described his struggles. “He’s really confused a lot. We have to remind him. Sometimes he knows who the president is. He thinks he’s 26. I say ‘I bet you wish you were 26, so do I.”
Shortly after Lamar’s hospitalization made national headlines, Khloe Kardashian announced their intentions to call off their divorce. While the media took their decision as a step toward reconciliation, it was actually a form of postponement due to the terrible timing in the wake of his hospitalization.

Khloe Kardashian explained that she is in Lamar life mainly to support him during this difficult time. Although she’ll always love him, she has moved on and is still romantically involved with NBA player James Harden. According to People magazine, she admitted that the dynamic is a relatively unique situation, but James understands her reason for supporting Lamar, as it has nothing to do with any type of romantic involvement.
“I’m there helping him and I love him and I always love him. It’s a really insensitive thing to fast forward a divorce. I love him and I always will.”
Khloe Kardashian’s interview with Ellen DeGeneres follows a string of interviews accusing her and her mother Kris Jenner of filming Lamar’s hospitalization for the upcoming season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians . Since the rumors have yet be confirmed or denied, fans will just have to wait and see. The season premiere of Keeping Up With the Kardashians airs on Sunday, Nov. 15 and check out Khloe Kardashian on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, November 16.
