Gamers Are Happy ‘Fallout 4’ Is Here, But Not PornHub — Free Adult Video Site Reports 10 Percent Traffic Drop Day Game Came Out

On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, gamers finally got their hands on Fallout 4, a proper sequel to its 2008 predecessor. Many were happy, but not adult entertainment website PornHub. Apparently, they reported a 10 percent traffic drop on the day the highly anticipated game came out.

In related reports by the Inquisitr, many gamers were on the edge of their seats clamoring for the latest news on Fallout 4 ever since Fallout 3. News for Fallout 4 amplified within the last five months once Bethesda, the developer of the game, posted a countdown timer pertaining to the game on June 2, 2015. It did not count down to a release but to the official website going live, revealing important information such as box art and what platforms the game would be on. As time went by until official release, plenty of news, commentaries, and impressions were made, such as performance impressions between systems to issues found in released beta copies. All the constant news favored Bethesda, with one report revealing that Fallout 4 shipped over 1.4 million copies on launch day along with the fact that its “Pip-Boy Edition” is the best-selling edition out of any game ever.

According to VentureBeat, PornHub — one of the world’s most popular adult video sites — made it known to GamesBeat that they saw a ten percent drop in traffic among gamers after Fallout 4 came out last Tuesday. From their reports, traffic began to drop between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. Traffic picked back up after 11 a.m. gradually but fell again at 5 p.m. It is believed the traffic drops happened during times when Fallout 4 was downloaded and installed on computer systems and when gamers were actually playing the game.

Despite the traffic loss, it seems that PornHub is not upset with the sudden traffic loss. Apparently, it seems they were somewhat expecting it given by what Corey Price, the adult video site’s president, had to say on the matter.

“We can’t say we’re too surprised with what happened to our traffic during peak gaming hours. Based on the data, it looks like a huge surge of people decided to indulge in some wasteland wandering by taking the day off of work and school to play, while the rest of the world had to wade through what we assume were the longest hours of work ever in anticipation of some alone time with their consoles.”

It also seems that PornHub are fans of Fallout 4 too. Corey Price concluded his statement on an understanding note in which they also claimed to be fans of the game.

“As huge fans of the game, we can’t say we blame anyone for swapping Pornhub time for some Pip-Boy surfing instead. We would have done the same.”

The Next Web also reported on the online relationship between Fallout 4 and PornHub. Just like Corey Price said, it seems many have taken the day off to play the game. Utilizing the graph yet again, there is a period between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. when traffic at PornHub is down. This is the time in which many gamers indulged in playing Fallout 4 instead of going to work or school. The rise in activity is probably due to the fact that gamers need to eat and use the restroom too, a break per se. As for the sudden drop at 5 p.m., that is when most people get off of work. The rest of the gamers who did not skip the day to play now have their chance to. Eventually, wandering desolate wastelands and fighting off marauders was not enough for “another form of release” when 11 p.m. came around.
