Giada De Laurentiis’ New Beau Is Mid-Divorce, And His Wife Is Devastated By Romance
The final touches hadn’t yet been inked on the divorce between Giada De Laurentiis and her now-ex when the celebrity chef started dating her new man. Now, it turns out that he was married as well, and he still is.
Giada’s new man is TV producer Shane Farley, and news of their romance has been gossip fodder since late summer. De Laurentiis recently divorced husband of 11 years, Todd Thompson, with whom she has a seven-year-old daughter. The split was finalized in September, Us Weekly reported.
But Giada and Farley apparently began dating in August, when pictures of the two necking in Las Vegas were leaked. At the time, an insider described the two as “super affectionate… all over each other,” and the pair was just as happy this Halloween at a party.
“She seemed super happy with him and they were hanging out with all of her best friends. She was feeding him bites of different appetizers and then holding his hand. All of Giada’s friends know Shane and have hung out with him many times. She seems very comfortable around him and in love.”
And that love affair came as a surprise to Shane’s wife. Three months into the supposed start of the romance between De Laurentiis and her new boyfriend, his divorce is still not final, although reports indicate it’s still going forward.
The wife of Giada’s new beau is named Jennifer Giamo, and she is a personal trainer in Manhattan, The Hollywood Gossip added. They had been married for 15 years when he filed for divorce on March 30. As of November, a source noted that De Laurentiis’ man is “technically still married. When he first met Giada, he was still very much married.”
And Jennifer Giamo apparently had to hear about his new woman in the tabloids, rather than from her soon-to-be ex-husband himself. Her lawyer, Barry S. Guaglardi, told the press what she thought of the matter, according to Page Six.
“My client is devastated by what she has learned through the tabloids.?.?. ‘Hurtful’ would be a mild characterization.”
Now, Giada De Laurentiis and her new man are having to specify exactly when they started to date. They’ve been friends for a couple years; Giada met the TV producer in 2013 when he signed up to produce a show for both De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay (with whom she was rumored to have an affair, and who is also getting divorced).
In the past, Farley has produced the TV shows “Rachael Ray,” “Big Morning Buzz” and is now producing Tyra Banks’ “FABlife.” Farley was nominated for eight Daytime Emmy awards for his work, and he won four — one for “The Rosie O’Donnell Show,” one for “The Wayne Brady Show” and two for “The Rachael Ray Show,” SheKnows added.
Though Giada met Shane while she (and he) were both still married, De Laurentiis’ rep contends that they didn’t start getting romantic until just recently.
“Giada and Shane are indeed dating but did not start dating until this past August.”
He called suggestions to the contrary “outright false.” Lawyers for Farley haven’t commented on the matter.
But though Giada hasn’t gone into specifics about her new love, she talked about it briefly and cryptically in an interview earlier this month when Wendy Williams asked her if she had a boyfriend. Laurentiis coyly replied, “I’m gonna say kind of.?.?. And I will tell you, this is the first time I’ve actually said that.”
In another detail, Farley has moved to Los Angeles, where De Laurentiis is in the process of purchasing a Pacific Palisades mansion for a whopping $6 million. The home was previously owned by Benny Goodman.
