‘Leafs By Snoop’ — Snoop Dogg Has His Own Marijuana Brand
Snoop Dogg, the self-proclaimed “master of marijuana,” is the first A-list celebrity to have his own line of cannabis products available for purchase with the launch of “Leafs By Snoop.”
As Time reported, Snoop Dogg’s Leafs By Snoop products were made available for purchase on Tuesday in Colorado. According to the product’s own website, there are currently ten marijuana distributors in Colorado that sell the rapper’s edibles, concentrates, and eight distinct types of flowers. Five of the locations sell only to those customers with a prescription for medical marijuana. The other five locations sell to cannabis consumers of the medicinal and recreational varieties.

Browsing the brand’s official site, there are plenty of marijuana products to choose from. They offer eight different cannabis strains — with such names as “Cali Kush” and “Blueberry Dream” — that come in packages of 1 ounce, 1/4 ounce or 1/8 ounce. There are six different flavors of marijuana chocolate bars (including “Peaches N Cream”) available in four different strengths. The concentrates are available in both “shatter” and “wax” form. They also have weed-infused fruit chews, gummies, and “peanut butter gems.”

For about the first month, Snoop Dogg’s brand of weed will be available exclusively at LivWell locations across Colorado, before being more widely distributed to other marijuana distributors. Snoop Dogg is quoted on the site’s front page:
Wherever my musical journey has taken me around the world, it’s beautiful to see how chronic leafs are a common source of peace, love and soul that connects us all. I’ve always been proud of our movement and have personally selected my favorite strains to enjoy. Leafs by Snoop is my way of sharing the experience I have with the finest quality cannabis one could imagine. Let’s medicate, elevate, and put it in the air!
As noted by The Guardian, however, Snoop Dogg can’t legally own the Leafs By Snoop brand, as he is not a resident of Colorado. It will instead be owned by a company called Beyond Broadway, which will grow the plants and manufacture the edibles and concentrates.

Beyond Broadway also owns the LivWell stores that will be the only place to purchase the product initially. Not unlike friend Dr. Dre’s Beats By Dre headphones, Snoop Dogg says that “Leafs By Snoop is truly the first mainstream cannabis brand in the world and proud to be a pioneer.”

Symbolically announced on April 20 earlier this year, Willie Nelson has a marijuana brand and weed store in plans as well. To date, it has not come to fruition.
This is not Snoop Dogg’s first foray into the cannabis business. Snoop Dogg’s marijuana media company, Merry Jane, launched in September. And as Quartz reports, Snoop Dogg’s venture firm invested heavily in Eaze, an app that has been described as “Uber for weed” by many.

Once the Leafs By Snoop line is available to marijuana dispensers other than LivWell, one would have to assume that Snoop Dogg’s brand of weed will be available in states outside of Colorado. Currently, three other states have legalized recreational marijuana, including Alaska, Oregon and Washington. A total of 23 states and the District of Columbia have legalized medicinal marijuana.
