Ian Somerhalder And Nina Dobrev Back Together? Former ‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Takes To Twitter To Quiet Reunion Rumors

The rumors that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev may be getting back together will not die, despite the fact that both seemed to have moved on from each other both on and off screen. For her part, Nina seems to be making her relationship with new love Austin Stowell even more public, perhaps to quiet the rumors that she wants to return to her ex and that she is coming back to The Vampire Diaries.

Now that they have walked their first red carpet together as a couple, Dobrev and Stowell are also ready to acknowledge their boyfriend-girlfriend status on Twitter.

“That weird moment when you realize you don’t follow your girlfriend on Twitter,” Stowell posted on Twitter.

To which Dobrev replied, “That awkward moment when u realize [you’re] not following him either & gotta do it real fast b4 he realizes [sic]”

While Nina and Austin seem to be putting their happiness on display for all the world to see, reports claim that things may not be going as well for Dobrev’s ex, Somerhalder, and his new wife, Twilight and Sleepy Hollow star Nikki Reed.

According to OK! Magazine, the couple “may not last much longer” since, “they’re arguing a lot.”

And the source for most of the tension between the newlyweds may be whether and when to start a family. Reed, who is just 27, is really focused on her career and may not be as ready to start a family as her husband. “Nikki is ambitious and worries about derailing her career if she gets pregnant now,” the source of the publication alleged.

Ian Somerhalder, 36, on the other hand has made it very clear that he is ready to start a family with Nikki. “Oh, hell yes! Absolutely,” Ian Somerhalder answered when asked by ET about having kids. “You know, it’s all about practice… It’s not practice makes perfect — it’s perfect practice.”

During the same interview, he also spoke about his excitement about bringing a baby into the world, even if it may not be the right time for his career-driven wife. “It’s the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something,” he added. “It’s a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world — but I really can’t wait to do it and really just love it.”

Now, about those Vampire Diaries reunion rumors, they seem to have all started straight from the mouth of Somerhalder. “Even Ian Somerhalder said that the decision not to kill off Nina Dobrev’s character was deliberate because it opens opportunities for her to come back to The Vampire Diaries,” KDramaStars reports.

But for her part, Dobrev seems to be ready to move on the from her former Vampire life. She recently appeared in horror comedy The Final Girls, and will next be seen in the 2016 drama Arrivals. The actress also told InStyle that she is even going to change her look for one of her next roles.

“I’m going to be cutting my hair for my next role,” she told the publication. “I’m doing a movie that I haven’t announced yet, so I can’t talk about it, but we’re going to be cutting my hair for that.”

So far, it seems that both couples are doing their best to put any Somerhalder/Dobrev reunion rumors to rest. Ian and Nikki recently made a public appearance to fight for animal rights, even posting a video to Somerhalder’s Instagram starring both of them and asking their fans to stand up against dogfighting.
