Lindsey Vonn Recovers From Surgery After Getting Bitten By Own Dogs

Well, Jimmy Fallon, it seems you have a challenge in the serious hand injury department, because Lindsey Vonn just had a procedure after her dogs chewed her hand up this weekend in Colorado. Her dogs, Leo and Bear, were fighting over a frisbee, and Vonn tried to intervene, requiring debridement and stitches.

The Inquisitr reported that Lindsey Vonn has been a bit injury prone in her attempts to get back on top in downhill skiing. While in New Zealand training, she took a spill and fractured her ankle. This was after a knee injury derailed her previous attempts to go the the last Olympic Games. Vonn is training for the 2018 games in South Korea, and now that she is out of the boot from the fracture, she will now be bandaged at least until her stitches are removed.

According to the Gazette, Lindsey Vonn has been bitten by the injury bug once again. She took to Twitter to describe her injury to her thumb, and in usual Lindsey Vonn style, she included pictures of her injury and reached out to Jimmy Fallon.

“This is what I get,” Vonn said on her Instagram account. She also thanked U.S. ski team physician Dr. Randy Viola for fixing her thumb. She’s currently healing from a broken left ankle suffered in a crash during training three months ago, and recently pronounced herself ready to race.

Lindsey Vonn told the Associated Press that she will be fine for the World Cup giant slalom in Aspen, Colorado, at the end of the month. Vonn has injured this thumb before. In 2009 at the world championships, she sliced it open on a champagne bottle, and was forced to ski with her right hand taped to her pole.

Due to injury, Lindsey Vonn missed a ski event last month in Austria, and will now miss an event next week in Finland.

The New York Post revealed that Lindsey Vonn regrets getting into the fray over a frisbee, “So the story is that my dogs got rowdy fighting over a dang Frisbee and I tried to break it up but got bit instead. Fun weekend.”

They added to her list of injuries, and indicated that Lindsey Vonn was accident prone.

“Her list of injuries over the years is rather lengthy. She withdrew midway through the 2011 world championships because of a concussion. She raced with a severely bruised shin at the 2010 Olympics. She hurt her knee in training and missed a pair of races at the 2007 worlds and took a scary fall during training at the 2006 Olympics, then left the hospital to compete.”

People Magazine warned readers that graphic content was to follow when they posted photos of Lindsey Vonn’s injury.

“Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn is no stranger to injuries. But her most recent damage wasn’t done on the slopes, instead, a gash to her thumb came at the hands – or teeth – of her own pups.”

She noted to Jimmy Fallon that in the competition for hand injuries, she now believes she has won.

“I just decided to do Jimmy Fallon for a belated Halloween outfit,” the star joked in the video. “Nailed it! I win!” Along with the video, she tweeted “I win @jimmyfallon.”

Soon Lindsey Vonn shared with fans that her dog bite was okay, and she was back on the slopes in Colorado.

Do you think Lindsey Vonn can stay healthy enough to ski in her next competition?
